You sound very similar to me. :( I always feel a bit embarrassed when I say my husband has to help me bath and wash my hair because it seems like it should be such an easy thing to do yourself. I don't really feel that attached and didn't the first time around because of feeling so sick - I kind of view it as an eight month endurance test where you get a baby at the end of it. I think partly because your life revolves around how ill you are there isn't a lot of room for "bonding" with the baby and it's hard to get excited when you're really ill and tired even if you are looking forward to it. Have you managed to stay out of hospital or have you needed to be admitted?

Thanks for your thoughts SusanC, its good (wrong word but hope you know what I mean) to know others are having similar experiences. Althought IIRC you were hospitalised at one point so are obviously having a much harder time than me as I have managed to avoid that thankfully- I hope you're feeling a lot better now, or at least are able to function more normally. In hindsight I should have sought help with the sickness a lot earlier than I did but I just assumed that how I was feeling was normal, and as everyone else seemed to cope with it that I would too. It didn't occur to me at the time that other people were actually able to walk about, leave their house, drink fluids, wash etc and that I should be questioning why I couldn't- its pretty scary when I look back at how my frame of mind was only a few weeks ago. The anti-sickness meds have made a real difference to me though, I just wish I could get over the guilt I feel in taking them:(

On a good note my OH made me a pancake today with maple syrup and not only did I eat but I actually enjoyed it:j I am so looking forward to having a normal relationship with food again.

Congrats to all the new mummies on here as well - Ava, Thomas and Maia are all beautiful names:A

I see you were all discussing car seats today. Is there a good beginners guide anywhere that help a complete novice like me in understanding it all. Our car has isofix fittings so if I buy a compatible car seat do I still need to buy the bases as well? *clueless*:rotfl:

    Yum pancakes.

It's very quiet here this morning.
I had a rubbish nights sleep. I've got the cold so im stuffy and coughing. Then I woke at 4am with my eye glued shut and crusty. My vision is foggy and my eye bloodshot, so looks like an eye infection.

I'm 29 weeks today. It has flown in since my 20week scan.

Labour vibes to whoever needs them.

I'm here in body at least :o Carp night's sleep, think I overdid it at the gym.

I found it confusing as well :) If you want to use the isofix then yes you need a base and the car seat just clicks onto that. Decide on your pram/pushchair first as some of them only take a certain type of car seat (if you're wanting one that also takes a car seat that is!). We got a Quinny and it only takes the MaxiCosi Cabriofix.

We then got a Familyfix base rather than just the Easyfix base as it was on offer in Halfords and also fits the next seat size up. Halfords did a check on whether it'd fit our car just to be sure, and other places do a car check too. We can go back when we're ready to attach it and they'll do the fitting free for us.

I wasn't going to bother with the doctor tbh. I've bathed it in salty water and have a clean hanky so I'm not using my fingers. I might pop to the chemist later if it doesn't improve. Where do these things come from?
I'm trying to keep the kids away from me too but DD is off school not well. This will be a very long day.
