Yeah!
I was thinking maybe a sensor that recognised the word "SH*******************T"... :rotfl:0 -
The easiest way to implement that would be to film constantly and discard film after, say, 5 minutes.
Then when an accident is detected (accelerometers or something, I guess), dump the 5 minute film to some form of permanent storage.
Not quite as described in the ads, but that could be down to oversimplification so that they can fit it into a 30 second slot aimed at the kind of people who impulse buy off home shopping channels without doing any research into their purchase.
(Just to clarify: I'm not saying that everyone who watches home shopping channels is like this)0 -

Which sort do you have? How often do you download the videos?0 -
^^ I have the one that looks like a small torch, it comes with a sucker device to attach to your windscreen and ive got an 8GB memory card in it.... It will record without a recharge for 2 and a half hours, for long journeys it can be connected via an adaptor to the lighter socket while it's recording.
I plug it into my PC every night to recharge the battery and I clear any unwanted footage at the same time. It splits footage into 5 min segments.
It's supposed to automatically over write old data with new and should never need to be emptied, but i've fouind this can cause problems if you don't have a class 6+ memory card.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Thanks. I suspect I'd have forgotten to charge the thing up on the occasions when it turned out to be useful.0
