  • The fault may lie with ryanair systems, but they have acknowledged there is a fault, and put up a guide what to do if it happens. If you have not read that guide and actioned what it says, then the fault for being out of pocket rests with you.

    I'm afraid you are wrong

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO RETRIEVE YOUR BOOKING AND THE BELOW ERROR MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED - This also means that the payment was not approved by the bank, no payments have been made and the flights in the reservation have been cancelled

This is their terms, which did not happen! They can put any guide they like up. If they do not confirm payment or reservation, the fault clearly lies with Ryanair

So you checked the system then?

Im sure this is what I said:

Conversly, if you did check the system, then the fault lies with ryanair. (I didn't think that I would have to put this bit in as my previous post explained this)

Well recieved an email today saying as a good will gesture they are going to refund all the money!

A good will gesture? or in other words....sorry for our mistake!
  • Does anyone have a phone number for complaining to ryanair?
Tried the number available on their website but does not have the option to complain on that line not to mention that they cut you off after telling you they are experiencing a high volume of calls, I wonder why?
We had our flight cancelled due to volcanic ash and need to know what to do next regarding refund of original flight and refund for the alternative flight booked with different airline and car hire.
Could not use their re-routing option as the website was still showing our flight as available even though we had received an email and text saying it was cancelled at 2am. Great fun standing in hotel reception in Italy in your PJ's trying to find another way home.

the thing is if you're told at 2.00 am that your flight at, say 10.00 am that day has been cancelled you have no chance of getting hold of anyone at Ryanair, or anywhere else, to ask what to do? if you are able to book another seat that morning with another airline via the internet at 2 in the morning it's tempting to do that so you can guarantee getting home if you need to be home that day. However I agree that you can't claim for both a refund from Ryanair plus the cost of another flight with another airline.
