Your right and the quickest and easiest way is to use a waterless wash such as the already suggested Showroom Shine which will be more than adequate for the OPs needs

Normally wash them a week or 2 after I get them with washing up liquid and some warm water. They may get the same again occasionally, think I washed my last car twice.0

Wait until it rains and then go to the local (and very popular) Eastern European hand wash - they give 20% discount if it rains!0

Rain.
No, I'm not joking.0 -
Rain does not clean a car. It is extremely useful in rinsing the car for you and preventing watermarks after washing though. Always good to wash your car in the rain. Even if you might get jokers who think rain washes a car making stupid remarks while you do it.reduceditem wrote: »Rain.

Stones in their cloths picked up off the ground gives free scratches with every wash. Plus the 20% discount is for my exact reason above and they put in less effort drying the car.Wait until it rains and then go to the local (and very popular) Eastern European hand wash - they give 20% discount if it rains!0 -
My car gets filthy as soon as it rains. Its a darkish green colour and seem to easy show any dirt
I am thinking of getting some mudflaps to cut it down a little a lot of dirt gets kicked up from rear and onto bumper and rear window and sides of car. Its a Ford focus btw
I am also after some bright bulbs0 -
I don't really wash my car. Couldn't care less what it looks like, as long as it runs as it should.
If it must get washed, it's just a quick sqoosh with the pressure washer. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Mine gets washed when i cannot see out of the windows.
And then its only a blast over with the pressure washer at work.
Life is to short to polish a car ....... (that and the fact, its only the dirt holding it all together .....!!!)˙ʇuıɹdllɐɯs ǝɥʇ pɐǝɹ sʎɐʍlɐ

You have to realise the critical point with car washing. It's like this;
You see a brand spanky shining car at Tescos and you park next to it. "They" aren't gona damage a shiny by bashing your door, but their car is fair game.
A grubby car?. "They'll" park next to you and expect you to accept a few dinks without question.
But then you reach the critical point. It's when it's ditched, can't read the number plates?, can't really see what colour it was supposed to be?, can't even tell what make it is.
"No one" parks next to that car because they know you don't give a tosh,
;);) I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
My last car was a metallic beige one. It was great for disguising dirt. You only needed to give the wheels a clean to make it look nice.
Metallic black, what we have now, is truly the devil's colour! The last car also had a coating on it so that's maybe the reason it kept cleaner for longer. 0
