And what do i do when my daughter from Canada calls? hers comes up as international as well.:(
Get a Truecall and set your daughter's number up so it is on the allowed list. Along with anyone else you want on there of course! Simples!
I've just checked my online report from True call and in the last 4 weeks, I have had 10 calls from unknown sources, including 5 international: not one of them has got through to me! Bliss0 -
Try asking them what they are wearing and telling them how nice they sound, do they have a boy/girlfriend, they usually hang up before I get to the moany noises. Nowone has lasted more than 90 seconds to date and the record for them terminating the call is 9 seconds.
The wife and I are quite competitive about it and look forward to these calls now.0 -
I had had mine since March 2010 and not one single call although truecall logs them in online system
Brilliant piece of kitI bought Truecall a couple of months ago. I have not had a single unwanted call since, either UK based or foregin. I used to get around 2 per week. Best £90 I've recently spent0 -

I couldn't afford £100 for one of those.0 -

From my days working at bt, there was a service they could add to your line that meant your number did not accept international calls and a standard response stated this to the caller. This was a good 7 years back but may be worth enquiring about if its mainly overseas calls you get.0

this made me laugh - I don't know whether DH would join in and compete as he just puts the phone down on them and spoils the fun0 -

It's now got to the stage where we pick up the phone, immediately tell if the caller is Indian, then put the phone down.
They don't ring back*
YMMV, Dave

no its not an assault is defined as to make a reasonable person suffer fear of immediate harm.
I highly doubt you are going to reach thru the phone and ring their neck ... I also doubt that a judge would feel it was an assault. The police are likely to dismiss it as the harm was minimal and if they wanted to pursue it civilly they would have to employ a UK solicitor and pay them to lodge a claim - but of course they need your name and address to do so - and if they do you can counter claim for harassment.0
