We've recently moved, & have just been told that my son's new scout group is having a bazaar on Sunday, & I really should bring some cakes or sweet things for his group to sell. I offered to buy some cakes, but no, it must be home made

I have a very violent fan oven, an electric hob that hates me & can actually burn water, & a tiny kitchen. I am normally ok with muffins, but I burnt them all yesterday, after about 5 minutes in the oven.

What can I make that needs little or no cooking, can be made quickly with a couple of small 'helpers' in a kitchen you could not swing a kitten in, and is dead easy. Other than rice crispie cakes.
  • Rocky Road, google the recipe for nigellas rocky road, and use basics chocolate and rich tea biscuitr for it, which will make it much cheaper too. I use Mr T's and a mixture of plain and milk.

I was going to recommend double layer crispy squares until I read that :o

Plenty more in this thread; I'll merge this later, to keep ideas together

ooh, do share the recipe. That sounds much nicer than crispies & chocolate inexpertly shoved into a fairy cake case (by my helpers, even I can manage that!) :D

BTW. The oven really hates me. I just had a pizza (I'm alone, they are in bed, he's out, & I couldn't be bothered). It said 12 minutes at 180 for a fan oven. Was burnt at 160 after 6 minutes.

It and I will have to have words.

    Fab. :T

I might even try the sweetie & marshmallow kebabs. Utterly genius, & by the sound of it totally foolproof.

I may come back on monday & say we all got injured on the kebab sticks, but hope not.
  • fifteens, tiffin , very easy to make no cooking involved or mini trifles

    Thank you so much.
I spent last night infront of the tv making sweetie kebabs. They look fantastic, I found some pretzel cellophane bags in the local cake shop, and tied them with christmas ribbon. :T
My children were hugely impressed, & the eldest said if he would happily pay £1 for one. :D(he's not been on here has he..he'll happily spend all his money on sweets)

Now I just need to attempt to melt the chocolate without burning it, & try the other recipes.

Ladies I am hoping you will be able to help?

School Christmas fair is on Friday and they will be having a cake sale? I have instructed hubby to make some bakewells but i feel like i should do something?

Pref not cupcakes and the last time i made Twinks - they went wrong they were soggy?

Any ideas would like them to look nice too? x
