Tray bake things - flapjacks, bakewells that sort of thing always go down well. But really cupcakes are usually the most successful - with garish icing and teeth rotting sweeties but all in a good cause.:DI wanna be in the room where it happens0

Flapjacks are always popular. I made over 40 millies style choc chip cookies for the scouts fayre the other week and they went down well. Someone else made a beautiful carrot cake which was sold by the slice and made a good amount. We found the scones were a waste of time. The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0

I would make rice crispy treats (marshmallow type) dotted with sweeties and/or drizzled with chocolate (but nothing chewy like toffee!). It is easy and quick to make, doesn't need baking, lower sugar than many other cake-y things and usually popular with kiddies. If you make it in poundshop foil trays they are also easy to transport and dispose of afterwards, but remember to grease the tray first for ease of removal.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

I am planning on baking for a fundraiser at work this week and I have no idea how long I make things for them still to be fresh on the day.
I want to make fudge - does this need to be kept in the fridge or can it be wrapped in foil and left on a work top til needed. Will it keep for a few days or is it best on the day (or one of those things that is better the next day)
Scones? I dont have room to freeze them so how long in advance can these be made and also should they be stored in or out of the fridge. Same for Lemon Drizzle cake and also Twinks hob nobs.
I also have a recipe for peanut butter and choc chip biscuits so same for them.
Also can lemon drizzle cake be made into bunds rather than a large cake?
Thanks for any help0 -
Fudge will keep for ages. Preferably in a tin of some sort. Same for hob nobs, you could make them a few days ahead.
Scones really need to be eaten on the day they were made unfortunately as they go stale very quickly.
Lemon drizzle cake will keep a day or two as it is so moist, you could make it the day before, and yes you could make it in bundt tins but obviously make sure you adjust the baking time.
Peanut butter & choc chip biscuits - really depends on the recipe. If they are American style chewy cookies then they may go stale quite quickly.0 -
Scones are probably out then so I might make something else. Any thoughts?0

Traybakes can be made a few days before and kept in a tin/plastic box.

chocolate brownies are good, esp. if the gooey ones, as they seem to get better over a couple of days. You can make these in pretty large quantities too. The recipes in Bills Basics or Nigellas express are both good0

I agree with everyone else - scones need to be eaten the same say they're made. Smae goes for small cakes as they dry out more quickly than family-sized cakes.
Brownies, biscuits or fruit cake (cut into pieces) would be my choice
