Just had both DS and DD having Christmas fairs with cake stalls (one school one nursery) decided to make foreverskints smartie cookies and they were fab.
Did them as giant cookies (divided mixture into 8), and made one batch of smartie cookies, one batch with chocolate chips and one chocolate chocolate chip by substituting a spoonful of cocoa for flour. Sold for 40p a biscuit they sold out at both fairs in under 20 mins! DH tried the chocolate chocolate chip and has vowed never to buy an "extra special" or whatever version from the supermarket ever again - these are a definite winner!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I just tried out these peanut butter and jelly traybake squares and even fussy DD1 ate them - they were just delicious
That sounds delicious .. but I wouldn't risk using peanut butter, i.e. peanuts, just in case of allergies.

  • I have 3 children at school and would like to send 3 different boxes for a school bake sale on Monday. We have a good amount of basic baking staples and I'm looking for a few suggestions apart from the obvious fairy cakes, please!
  • my first vote goes to Twinks hobknobs. then maybe shortbread ( the victories cook book recipe is very easy) then a traybake of chocolate cake or flapjacks.

More Ideasw will be on the way soon

  • i wouldn't do anything too fancy or expensive as some of these things they just sell everything for 20p regardless of cost, time and effort..

rice crispie cakes, gingerbread men, flapjacks, jam tarts, raspberry buns (you make a sweet pastry mix then add an egg to it to bind, put blobs on a baking tray with a blob of jam in a well in the middle and bake.. yummy!) iced squares of spongecake with hundreds and thousands on, cookies...
