When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Helllo people :hello: I hope eveeryone who reads this is happy and well and up for it again this morning :T I have a big day ahead - open day at one of my schemes with the Mayor, local press & CEO coming (not sure which face to insert somewhere in between :T:eek::rotfl:)

So DFW things today:
  • read martin's email
  • check banking
  • get sack of potatoes on way home from farm
  • dinner & lunch from stores - try to stick to diet (doing imposibly bad at this at the moment :o)
  • go to gym after work
  • book airport parking
  • call bank re travel ins
That's all I can think of right now, I'm sure there's more! Have a fab day everyone x

  • Good morning DNMS and all those to follow.

Ah well, it's Wednesday; get through today and it's over half the week done. :T

    So far I have:
    • checked banking
    • checked for surveys
    • put some HM soup in a flask for lunch
    • fed and watered the chickens
    I will also:
    • ask boss if we can order decaff coffee as well as "standard" coffee and teabags - I buy my own at the moment, but no-one else does!
    • remind boss he's going to set up a pension for me before he goes to Australia in 10 days time  and he's paying £50 a month in
    • go for a half hour walk at lunch-time
    • read book with rest of lunch break and not go shopping
    • dinner from stores
    • have an NSD
I've been bad at the walks this week as the book is so gripping I've read for an hour. I need to do the walk first then won't get distracted. :o

Have a good Wednesday everyone; it was good to see you back yesterday Josie, stitchy x

Thanks DNMS, your positivity is a real boost to the start of my day. Especially when I feel as tired as I do this morning. Good luck for your 'day' Maybe this face may be a good idea :undecided but I'm sure by the end of today it will be a

Today I'm at the borough CEIAG (careers education, information and guidance) meeting so I can have an extra 45 mins in bed. I'll also be home around about 90 mins earlier than I would be on a good day and about 4 hours on a bad day :D

    • Can't charge the phone
    • Free posh tea at meeting :D
    • Free lunch at meeting :D
    • Will check surveys when I get in
    • Bank - no surprises
    • Dinner, my lodger is cooking
    • Collect prescription
    • Sort out the other parking fine

Can't think of anything else at the mo, shower and out the door for me now.

Good morning all of you, what a cheery bunch:T
I'm enjoying a slow morning - sitting in my dressing gown here with a cuppa and toast. It's a study day - yes, I know that means I must study:D Just not rushing out of the house by 8.15 is a treat. I have been good and had my shower and hair wash at 7...usually I wait til girls have gone to school but thought I'd crack on so can get working sooner....no excuses:rotfl:

I'm still feeling very bouncy...goodness knows why, but long may it last:j:j:j
I only need some milk today - not for me, I'm still going with being lactose free - but eldest drinks loads of the stuff...so a trip to the shop for that later.

    Ok, time for my list:
    • check banking
    • check onepoll - a lot haha
    • packed lunch for dd2
    • heating is off now
    • meal from plan tonight - roast chicken mmmmm
    • take stuffing out of freezer (leftover from our last roast:o)
    • whizz round and tidy up - trying to keep on top of it
    • get excited about the last item of my Next sale order that's on its way typically it's the item I wanted the most;)
    • fruit for snacks
    • drink lots of water
    • hoover downstairs
    • use up leftover pancake batter tonight
    • Look for noew recipe ideas....we eat the same meals on a fortnightlyroll it seems...boring:o
    • FINISH MY ESSAY:)
Ok, that will be my lot for today I think. Have a fab day everyone - this thread is so lovely and busy right now - aren't we a motivated bunch:A
I really need to sort out a new signature!
