Smart phones -pressing key during call

Another question is how to access Voicemail on touch screen phones ??

On my old phone you hold down the 1 key (with inverted handset symbol).

I have tried this on my new phone, but nothing happens.

I can access Voicemail through another screen, but that's a roundabout route.

Any ideas how to setup/access Voicemail by holding down 1 key or similiar method ??

Should be the same, just hold down the 1 key on your screen, works on iPhone.

LOL i had to hang up the 1st time i used a touchscreen phone and it said press 1 for...err how??

Hung up and checked the screen and spotted the icon. Simple when you look.
