I suppose the cardboard one may be as cheap as you're likely to find? They have to be strong to be able to take the weight of the body so I suppose they are never really going to be cheap.
That has got to be one heavy box for £50 postage.... :-)

OK so what I've found is..

You can buy a cardboard box for £110 + £50 for delivery ( for a box!!!)

A wicker / willow / bamboo coffin for £430 all in.

From a funeral director £330 - £400 for a no frills veneer coffin (without their services).

    IMHO it's crazy !

£50 is a lot but due to the size, postage is going to be pricey. That's another thing that would put buying online.

I keep forgetting that post isn't just about weight now but on volume as well. I think we're getting stung from all angles ...
  • I thought I just found my ideal solution.

Don't think I can post links, but if you're interested look up 'eco pod' on the search engines.

... guess what though no prices, but you can purchase through any UK funeral director........

The old rule of thumb applies I guess... if there are no prices and you have to ask, you probably can't afford !
