Pretty good. Mainline straight into Liverpool Street (20-25 mins) or get off 2 stops down at Walthamstow for Victoria Line. Or you can get a bus to Woodford station on the Central Line from Highams Park. I actually prefer having the choice of both tubes. I tend to use the Central Line a lot after being out in Central London. Cab to home from Woodford is around £4.50, or can get bus. Usually after a few 'shandies' I find myself arriving around midnight so prefer a cab!
Mainline trains are every 15 mins. I think zone 4 though.

Sounds perfect. I've been known to get the N73 night bus back to mine after a few shandies as well on occasion. Makes for an "interesting" journey home sometimes but it's about £30+ cheaper than a cab. The Victoria Line running to nearly 1am is a huge benefit for anyone who likes to stay out till after closing-time.0

The last train to Highams Park leaves Liverpool Street at 1.03am (arriving HP 1.24am). Not that I've ever been on it. Ahem. Cough cough.
Excellent! And one to remember if you're nearby - end of Central Line/Victoria Line!
Failing that, go out somewhere else and get the first train at 6.03am

Great transport links; on the Victoria Line you can be at Oxford Circus in about 20 minutes and on the overground at Liverpool Street in about 30. Lots of really decent Victorian houses on quiet streets and an up-and-coming "village" where prices are creeping up and up.
Lol! I know Walthamstow VERY well indeed. I did consider there but there aren't any buses directly into central London are there? Except for the N26 at night...
My family live ALL OVER the area... Imaging bumping into them every day... *Cringe* If there is nowhere else, I might just have to take the area.
@ the person that mentioned Highams Park... Are you SERIOUS?! I said in London... :-P0 -
I used to live not far from Plumstead and it's not a nice area at all. Lots of crime, and a very unpleasant feel to the area - I rented a house from an agency based in Plumstead and even they said that the area was 'edgy' ... (Incidentally, I'd personally avoid Plumstead based estate agencies too, but that's just my opinion). Thamesmead is vile too, just miles and miles of new build housing with very little in the way of facilities. Very depressing. If I was buying a house then I'd definitely rather spend my money elsewhere.0

Why on earth would someone want to get to Central London on the bus from Walthamstow? That's far too slow a journey when you've got the tube and overground train. What about Wanstead?0

Meh, I'm thinking ahead to the days when I'll be tight and buy a bus pass instead of a travel card.
I just saw my dream property in Bermondsey... Then I saw pictures of it crammed between a railway line AND pizza shop.
I'd post the pic but because I'm a new user... I can't

No luck! Seems like I will be looking at Wanstead and Walthamstow...0
