No Buying Toiletries in February Challenge

I have to confess to a planned visit to Boots after work today. I wanted to use my 25% off shampoo or conditioner voucher and I'd noticed on my previous visit that some John Frieda stuff had reduced shelf labels. As JF is a HG product for me and I am on the last of my JF shampoo, I succumbed. It was priced up at £2.55 and the 25% off brought the price down to £1.91, so not bad at all. While I was there I noticed there were a lot of hair dyes on the reduced shelf and very restrainingly, I thought, I just bought one for £1. Very pleased with it as it is a Clairol one and the last two hair colours I've used have been Clairol and I've been very impressed with them, in fact I like them better than Nice 'n Easy which I used to class as a HG product. I don't feel too naughty as I've only got one box of hair dye mousse in stock.
The following is the list of shampoo I posted in August which I've updated.

Herbal Essences x 4 (3 left unopened + one in use)

There's actually some space now in my shampoo/conditioner drawer. At one time there were too many to keep them all in one drawer!0 -

hi everyone got a couple of uu to report
olay bodywash with shea butter(picked this up when it was in a giftset for 1.50)i have a few more but i only got it for the wipes that were also in the set(wipes over £2 on own)
sanctuary hand cream 30ml- i have another in my stash :P i normally stick to the norwegian formula one which is designed for dry hands(someone was asking about handcream?)
Noticed somewhere further back someone asking how the stash started...for bodywash etc i blame it on the old boots thread(i think its shutdown now).for my bathroom we then decided to get one of those 3 drawer see-through things and a cabinet that hung on the wall so that everthing could be packed neatly away instead of out on the shelf...now we have them full plus stuff on the shelf and stuff on top of the cabinet:rotfl:
for makeup i "blame" youtube. i started my own channel and used to post "haul" videos..its so addictive plus alot of people do fav videos where they say what has been the best products for them that month.
My aims of this challenge and the others i am doing is
1.be debt free
2.i have a major holiday later this year plus 2 residential schools i have to go to for university next year!!£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am

I agree with you, it was the old Boots thread, that's why I still have a stash of Mitchum more than 2 years on, I think I ending up with about 50 costing pennys each time.
My problem is that I forget what I have because I have so much. On Monday ( still January!) I went and bought straightening spray because my Schwarzkopf one is coming to the end, I would definately buy again but the Boots I went in didn't have any so ending up buying 2 L'oreal Paris Studioline at 2 for £4. Gone through my stash now and by no means did I need anymore!!0 -
Also had very NPI today, managed to resist in Boots and only bought a Strictly Fabulous Cosmetic Case at 90%, I worked out it would be great for storage.
Then went into TJ Hughes and they had 20% off everything with Tigi Bedhead Brilliant Brunette shampoo at £4.60:eek:
But my willpower and I walked away.0 -
A wee UU to report:
Lush The Bogg bath ballistic WIBA? Maybe, it's was a Christmas product, still have another one in my stash. I did like it though0 -
Its taken me over an hour to catch up! LOL
A small UU sample tube of moisturiser not sure of the name but it smelt really musty!0 -
Hi Everybody,
I have been reading this thread and it really does make me laugh as it is me all over.
Yesterday I decided to count the amount of stuff I have in my house and it came to 894 items.
This consists of shampoo, conditioner, hiar repair products, shower gel, soap, liquid soap, bubble bath, hand cream, face creams, face washes, deodorants, tooth paste, mouthwash, hair removal items. But I have not included any make up, lush stuff or perfume.
So I really do think I need to stop buying and start using the items I have. My hubby goes mad as it seems to be everywhere. I have a stock in both the bathrooms, the airing cupboard as been changed into a store room and the garage has alot of stuff in it as well.
So I dont know if I will get withdrawal symptoms but I am going to start by saying that I am not spending a penny in February 2011.
Take care

Does anyone who uses a body puff also use body scrubs as well. I've thought about putting my shower gel in one of my liquid soap pump bottles and using a body puff I've got but also have body scrubs to use up as well and didn't want to scrub my skin too much.
i use my puff when i use shower gel only, when i use my body scrub i just use my hands.
