I understand it my lovely, because I understand people, but as you say it's not logical to tar all teenagers with the same brush because of something a few did, once.

I think we are a bit programmed to think that way by the media.

I was nervous the other day. I'd bought too much in Lidl because of the bargains (Mmm Bargains! :o:D) and I was stuggling to get it all home. As I turned the corner a group of young men in hoodies were coming towards me and I thought "Oh !!!!!!". I did. But they were lovely. They separated to let me pass, they asked me if I needs a hand and said "My Mum always goes mad at the special offers too". I felt really silly.

At the womens refuge I help out at some of the kids have to have therapy because they've seen one man wallop their Mum so they are scared of all men. But most men don't beat up women do they? Hence the therapy.

It's the same with teenager. It's crazy to act as if they're all criminals when only a very small % are.

I get that some teenagers steal from shops, but in Superdrug they shout at my non-thieving daughter for touching the display, and loom over her standing too close and look at her with angry faces as if she is scum.

Some old ladies steal, we've had one in the local paper recently, do you think they do the same to old ladies? I bet they don't.

That's how I see it chick, anyway.

How terrible!!!! :( Definitely check that HO has received the letters, hope some good comes of this.

I have a big black NO! on a "post it" taped over my debit and loyalty cards. People laugh at it in shops! :o:rotfl:

Re hemp.... if you could see the state of my hands in the winter sometimes, you'd know why I was a devotee of the hemp hand protector. Anyone would think I was a bricklayer by day and moonlighting on my hands and knees scrubbing floors by night. :o.

It's partly my fault as I am very bad at wearing gloves for any jobs or in the winter, but I can get those nasty splits in my fingers if I'm not careful. My hands look best when I'm on holiday and not doing anything except massage cream in :rotfl:

View the hemp hand protector as a treatment not a cosmetic, it should be in the medicine cabinet really! And no! No way could I rub the hemp body butter all over myself after a shower, perish the thought! I would use it on my feet at night with socks on though!

Right, I haven't quite caught up with everything yet (that'll teach me to disappear offline for so long!) but wanted to get the confessions over and done with :rotfl:

I was back in London last weekend, and did a bit of shopping. Please don't judge me too harshly, I was fairly sensible...

    Visits to Boots:
    • Organix hair serum x 2 - this is my HG hair serum, and it's only sold in boots. Was on 2 for £7 offer, instead of £6-something for one, so a good time to buy.
    • Can of Batiste - used a little over the weekend, and also only had one can (in use!) in Switz, and they don't sell it here, so now I have another in reserve.
    • Got a £5 voucher, which was promptly given to a friend :D
    Debenhams:
    • Urban decay eye pencil anniversary set (£60:eek:) - maybe a little bit of an indulgence, but I just finished 2 urban decay liquid eyeliners (£13 each to replace), which I was gutted about, as I use them all the time. I've always loved the pencils and the colours, and getting the set for £60 is a brilliant bargain, especially as my Dior black liner is also about to die, and this would cost me £16.50 to replace separately. I can honestly say I will use all of the colours as well :)
    • Clinique foundation - I'm almost out, so this was needed, and it's almost twice the price in Switzerland.
    • Clinique city block spf 40 - again, almost out, and my old one is SPF 15, and really old. Decided it was time to upgrade, and went for the SPF 40 rather than 25, as you can never have too much spf.
    • Clinique bonus time goodies - well, I needed things anyway, so might as well get them at bonus time :A Includes:
    - a new mascara, which I will use - I never buy mascara now!
    - Clinique Eye makeup remover, which is my fave, but I can never justify paying for it
    - eyeshadow kit - nice colours, but not sure I'll use them, so will probs give away to sister
    - moisture surge gel - will def get used! I use this as a kind of facepack when I get really dry skin, and then my normal lotion after. And I have really dry skin right now, due to the cold.
    - lip gloss - would normally give this away, but it's a really nice colour, so might give it a go...
    - 2 brushes - perfect for travelling :)
I've been desperately looking for a new evening perfume (I only have 1 perfume, and it's a 'day' one, tho I have lots of it! after binning all my other old ones when packing/moving) - I haven't actually got a new perfume in about 3 years! I've been trying loads recently, but just can't find anything I like yet. Perfumes change very drastically on my skin, and I tried some over the weekend that seemed promising at first, then suddenly turned, and I was desperate to get it off my skin - horrible smells!

I will not buy any until I find something I really love though :) And it is lots of fun looking! Plus something to pass the time on trips through duty free/waiting for planes...

I did have a mini-success when I tried the DKNY Pure, which stayed lovely, but again, more of a day perfume I think... I did get a little sample vial to take away though, in John Lewis, yay!

    So, um, yeah, quite a few in's :o And no UU's - I'll work on that :A

If she can fit on, it's a bit of a sqeeze this month!!

At least we can all re-set the challenge on Monday, phew.....

I know I've not done great this month but it's way better than Jan which was a 3 figure spend (gulp) - too embarrased to put the figure in my sig - and I've got my new mantra from Jacks to stick on my bathroom cabinet/purse/credit/debit cards!!

'If I have more than years supply of something - then I really don't need to buy any at all now, no matter how bargainous it is.' (Or you could just use NO!) (-:

And for the new March thread, we may have to extend the PRCP to include a few new suggestions from this month - i.e. and you may not like it that much anyway/it may have gone off! :rotfl:
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!
  • Welcome all newbies! Congrats on babies! Its taken me a couple of days to catch up!

Got another Olay serum yesterday which was a surprise as I have had one but hey it was free!

Tara I can highly recommend the microdermabrasion for your blackheads - I have used the Time Delay kit and Boots No7 and Tesco Skin Wisdom but of all I preferred the No7 as I found the moisturiser in the Time Delay kit a bit heavy for me. I use the scrub a couple of times a week and it has made a massive difference. HTH!

    Hi!

Just been introduced to this thread by the kind bev97, who saw my post regarding my piling up of bath ballistics (which is crazy tbh as I prefer bubble baths!)

Read the first post, but will no doubt forget some terms, so bear with me please! Anything else I need to know? :o

    Hi and welcome Sawan:hello:

I understand your daughters predicament, doesn't want to spend her money there but want's the brands they have. Have you contacted customers services about it, maybe they can speak to the staff? The majority of kids are good kids, just a few like you say that give them all a bad name. Seems her and her friends are doing all they can (not going in in a group etc). Hope it gets sorted for them:)

My hands are exactly the same - I always forget to wear my gloves in winter or for tasks like washing up, so they are knackered!

I will invest in the Hemp Hand Protector eventually, but not for a while - I just feel that as it's more intense and my hands tend to need slightly less intense products in the spring/summer then it may be worth giving Hand Food a go for a bit until the winter comes round again...
