Groan, I have still got a £10 off £25 spend at the BS - think I am officially sick of it !!
I was a bit naughty last night - heard there is a glitch on the minis range where if you buy 6, it kicks in the 3 for 2 offer and the 5 for 4 offer on the minis. So I took it to the very nice SA who rang it through and sure enough 6 minis S&G for £7.05.
Now I have done the maths (puts Geek specs on) on this  and because the minis start out so expensive, it's not such a fab offer. However, if you are looking for minis, it works out about the same price per 100ml as buying the larger products on the 3 for 2 offer and you get handy travel sizes.
I assume it would also work on the Sanctuary but didn't try it as have got sooooo much of that already.
Off to L'Occitaine today to get my Daily Mail foot cream thingy - hope they have some left - it's for the gift pile so not sure if I have to count that as an IN? I've got 2 vouchers - it says only one per customer so will have to see what sort of mood the SA is in.
I hate this time of year with all the Olay adverts for mothers day. It's tough for all of us on here who have lost our mums - I miss her badly enough the rest of the year, even after quite a few years, but mothers day just about finishes me off - have to avoid card shops for about 6 weeks.
I always buy flowers for my house cos mum loved them. What do other people do to get through this time?Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
A uu for me today, a sample of BS mango body scrub, wiba? yes, I really like their scrubs but not until I've nearly finished all my others. The devil makes works for idle hands0

I lost my Mum in 1991. It got easier as time passed but for the first few years it was as you describe, everything reminding me that I could not give her a gift that year. I have flowers in the house for her on her birthday, usually - for Mothers' Day my own children usually give some.
Mum died relatively young - 67 - of leukaemia and was active right until the end. I was grateful for the being active, but she should have had many active years ahead of her. She would now be in her mid - eighties and probably not so active, which has made her passing easier to accept as time has moved on.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
[QUOTE Booo indeed - I currently have a few small bits of Clinique stuff on eBay and I am cacking myself that whoever buys them will have a problem with them! My description is spot on - each product has been tested for colour (either on a tissue or using a cotton bud) and I have stated as much, but having never sold makeup before it's quite nervewracking![/QUOTE]
I know what you mean about ebay, I sold some of my son's boots last month (little boys size 9) and they ended up going for £19:eek: I was panicking for days that they wouldn't be happy but I had only started them at 99p. Sometimes people pay way over the odds just because they won't be outbid. The devil makes works for idle hands0 -
I lost my Dad in June 2001, three days before Fathers Day. It was 2007 before I could go in a card shop in June because of cards and ads.
Every year, I go for a steak dinner to celebrate his life. He loved steak. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Well day 18 into Feb and I've broken my pledge. I can sort of justify it though.
UU'd my HG handcream the delicious S&C handfood - just got to cut it open tonight (with childproof scissors I reckon to be safe :rotfl:). I do have another one to start tonight but then it's just one mini Sanctuary one left in the stash. Soooo since I had 200 points for spending £8+ on S&G I have got 3 more in the 3 for 2 offer. This worked out even better than the buying 6 minis glitch - although that was a close second!
Also got some Boots cheapy roll on deodorants x4 in the bargain corner for 46p. No I haven't run out but they smell nice and were very cheap (normally 70p so not exactly bargain of the year but hey ho.)
Back to the naughty step, but I still think I'm doing really well this month (for my standards anyway.)
We all of us know when we are doing better each month and have to look ourselves in the mirror each morning and account to ourselves for our purchases - can't expect miracles after all :rotfl:
Oh and the nice SA did let me use 2 vouchers in L'occitaine.....only just though...had to really schmooze her.....checked out the £2 soaps you can get on the website too. They seem nice enough but just in a plastic wrapper so nothing special pressie/gift presentation wise. Gonna be (finally) good and not order one....(sits on hands!)Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!

Just read your most recent post julie. I know the soaps on the website don't look much but they are really lovely and worth the money. Pleased you got your hand creamsjuliebunny wrote: »I hate this time of year with all the Olay adverts for mothers day. IKWYM julie. Even 11 years on I still find it hard and being a mother myself now, it is sort of a bittersweet time. Beauty adverts and card shops go OTT (QVC presenters mention mothers day constantly when they are flogging beauty items) and it is a relief when the day has come and gone.
If I can, I try to play some of my Mum's favourite music - she liked Neil Diamond and it still brings back lots of memories when I hear his stuff!0
