I have a family member who had a service plan through a dealer who went bust. They found out that the company who collected the money just passed it on to the dealer every month and the dealer used the money for something else (probably a holiday home in the Cayman Islands). They paid in about £150 and lost the lot along with a few hundered others I presume. The people that took over they business said that this was quite common with this type of system, which is why the one they offer, the money is held by a third party in a secure account.

I would have thought there would be some kind of legislation to make sure that peoples money is in safe hands, after all this is 'customer money'.

I have only just seen this post on ere, I know im slow.
However I just wanted to say that I have taken this plan out for my 10 reg ford and im more than happy with the service and the price.
