We gave them £10 each last year (2 of them) - they were fantastic, a lot of wait time for keys.
The whole removal was only £250 and that was for 2 vans - great value, we have said we will never do it ourselves again!0 -
I wouldn't be averse to slipping them a few beers at the end of the day but I doubt it'd cross my mind to tip them cash.
I'd guess those working for big companies get paid pretty well for the job?0 -
Tea, Coffee and Biscuits all day long - maybe even a run to the local sandwich shop to keep them working over lunch.
Never given them a cash tip but we usually give them a 24 slab of beer to take awayThe proof that some people really are opinionated and ignorant

Wine or beer seems a popular thank-you gesture, I gather - but imagine these guys get a crate from grateful customers every day. Poor obliging guys will drink themselves to death! And their missus certainly wouldn't so grateful at having a tipsy husband/partner at home at night.0

Anyone recommend any companies? in the North West Area?0

If they do something above and beyond then "yes", if they do exactly what I've already paid them to do (or less!) then "no".0

We had a split move, (ie into storage for a couple of weeks and then into our new house) it was relatively simple as we didn't have much stuff and we packed most of it in small boxes so nothing was awkward/ heavy (years of moving ourselves taught us that trick).
On the outward leg we tipped them £20- mainly to ensure the second leg went smoothlyThey came as soon as I called to say we had the keys and even helped us sort out our central heating
we had no food/ drink to offer them and it was pretty late by the time they finished so we gave them another £20.
Saving for an early retirement!0 -
We didn't tip our removal men last time we moved but that's because they quote £150 on the phone then turned up, got everything in the van ummed and ahhed and turned round to tell us it would be £180 so there went their tip.
We are moving again soon, using a different company obviously so if they don't mess us about on the price they we will tip them.:AWhatever it is - I didn't do it!:A0 -
