removal men - do you tip?

We'll be moving in a months time, and I was wondering what the general feeling was on tipping the removal men?
We'll be moving out of a difficult house removal wise: town house with no vehicle access to front or rear (so 2 flights of stairs + walk for them). I'm betting that they won't get paid any extra from their employer, so thought that a tip may be in order?

I've always treated removal men like the treasures they are. Tea, coffee, biscuits, sandwiches available when they want it - ask them, and a minimum tip of £25 each..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I think the last removal cost about £350 and I gave the two men £20 extra each. They were ncie though; if they'd been difficult or done a rubbish job then I might not have done.0

If anyone is ever worth a tip, it's a removal man. The sheer amount of labour that goes into a day's work, I would feel dreadful if I didn't give them a personal thank you. I'm obviously not very generous as we only give them £10 each but I also try to keep them well watered during the day! We moved once on such a hot day at the end of the day they sat down with us in the garden and we shared a beer with themEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I think I gave about a tenner a head last time, around four years ago. Might double that this time as moving to a four storey house! No extra charge for this. They always put themselves out (I've used them before) and have to get my large sofa over my back fence and up the little lane back onto my road as it won't go through the front door. Very helpful and accommodating. And, of course, I keep them watered and fed (well, with biscuits, etc!).

I wouldn't tip unless the removal guys did anything over and above the call of duty. I would however ensure there was tea, coffee and cold drinks on tap and provide some form of sustenance - bacon sarnies go down well but, if you don't have cooking facilities, plan ahead and have pre-cooked stuff (boiled eggs/ sausages) in the fridge. That way you get a cooperative team DURING the move.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Absolutely right. I always tip them. I'd like to think I gave them £20 each last time (about 5 years ago) but I have a feeling it was only £10:o.0 -
Your poll needs more options, along the lines of;
4) as long as they didn't damage anything
5) especially if they obviously worked their nuts off
6) not if they took forever, so it was midnight by the time we had beds in the new place...
...
etc
Generally, yes. £10 to £20 each.Act in haste, repent at leisure.
