well we filled in the transfer form yesterday and its sitting in my kitchen looking at me as if it knows something i dont lol! Just have to put her score on it and send it off and fate will take care of the rest!
My dd's school said to us that a note with the score range will be included with the result to give you an idea of the old A B C scores-mow most of you will probably already know this but as i am now nearing the end of this pregnancy my brain is mush so i will need it lol....unless the same pig that is flying over steveymp's house also delivers our 140 (im not just so greedy steveymp haha) and we have no questions:rotfl:
On saying that actually i do agree that if dd is borderline i would have to seriously try my best not to influience her to go with the secondary...well i think she would pick it anyway!
my new thoughts on the matter are i really really hope she gets a fab score-for her self confidence and as a reward for working so hard-and chooses to bypass the grammar for the love of the secondary....now that does sound crazy i know but the one thing this whole AQE experience has taught us is all we want for our daughter is the best and all that really means is for her to be happy as life is too precious and childhood too short to let it be anything else.
Come on Saturday :Tit takes more energy
to hate than to love...
love and relax!0 -

Those results are from 2 years ago (2009). This article doesn't give much away for last year http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/education/post-primary-selection/revealed-northern-irelands-grammar-school-entrance-test-lottery-14971040.html0 -
True ni-mum but sadly the Department of Education isn't releasing this info, maybe the Belfast Telegraph will repeat the exercise for 2010.We are in an information vacumn...a headmaster at one of the schools we visited told us that the amount of boys doing the exam had gone up whilst the amount of girls had gone down. It does seem strange. Also the number of children is dropping each year...it must have an impact.
It will be a gamble, I have heard of horror storied where a child who received an A and applied to an excellent grammar school but missed entry by one mark, ended up getting rejected by the 2nd grammar school (which takes A-C) and ended up struggling to get into a secondary school.(The boys secondary schools here are dreadful comparing to the girls).Frankly I thought it was a vindictive thing to penalise the child in that way just for trying to apply for the best school.0 -
Although it does say in the prospectus' I've read that they don't penalise you if the school is not your first choice and you're still considered purely on account of your grade - can't quite believe that tho!!Life's a box of beads - rainbow coloured and full of surprises!:D0

Thanks for trying, facingthefuture. As has been said, those results were the last 11+ ones (ie for those transferring in 2009) and all that is still on the Telegraph site it seems. The Telegraph did publish similar tables around last October for the first year of non 11+ transfer (those children transferring in 2010), giving AQE and PPTC (GL Assessment) test result ranges that were accepted by the various schools............it is those tables that no longer seem to be on the site (which seems rather odd) and which would be of help in giving this year's families an idea, at least, of what might be an acceptable score for each particular school.butterfly )i(0

Hi Everyone, my daughter is taking it all in her stride. She is looking forward to results and excited. I can't even concentrate in work and can think of nothing else!
I was trying to find the results page from last year as well. I emailed the Belfast Telegraph and they ignored my '3' emails. Also emailed AQE and they don't have any copies.
The wine will be flowing tonight to try and calm my nerves and I doubt I'll get any sleep. oooooohhhhh! :-)
Good Luck to everyone
