  • Hi guys,

My Ds will be doing the transfer test next year, Where would be the best place to go to look about sample papers, teaching materials etc.

I have been reading that there are two tests to sit depending on which school she wants to go to. Well all I know is she wants to go to our local Grammar which her brother is already attending.

It is a ccms school so I think she has to do the NFER test? Please correct me if I am wrong. so confused.

If a CCMS School then probably will have to sit the GL multiple choice test, your primary school should be preparing your child for this, although they are not "Officially" supposed to provide any help or support for these:eek:

Talk to your son's teacher or the school headmaster on this issue. As for practice tests AQE themselves supplied some of these for a fee, the school supplied others and the Belfast telegraph printed a set of 5 and gave them away with the paper;)
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

Mmmmm....maybe 'she who shall not be mentioned' made them remove it. Ah well, perhaps someone else was better organised than us two and can share their copy :D.

    Maybe indeed................

I'll have a rumage at the house tonight, but I know that the grammar my DS is looking at actually took scores in the high 80's last year:eek: so there is hope for my son:rotfl:

Most of this year's prospectus's (prospectii???) seem to be including information about what range of marks were accepted last year, if that's any help!

I think the results from last year might be somewhere in this thread:

School are doing nothing, my childs teacher told me that she is actually getting her daughter tutored. I am prepared to put the work if I could just get some material to work with.

I tutored my son myself and he passed, but I had lots of example papers to work with
