do they look at the standardised scores then? My DS trying to get into Rathmore who turn away A grades every year and in their prospectus it just says they will consider As before B1s etc then apply other criteria. We don't fit any of the other criteria except only child so am hoping they will look at standardised scores too as he got 266 which is pretty high within the A bracket. Does anyone know from last year??0

Son told me out of 28 children in his class, (15 boys), 4 boys got A's and only 1 girl achieved an A......something strange there don't you think?0

It seems that some pupils have been awarded an A in the PPTC GL Assessment test but ended up at the 42nd percentile. It may explain why some schools in PPTC admit using grades and others use scores.0

My Daughter also went through all this last year, so I understand all the questions, concerns etc. The most important advice I can give is what Ex Spendaholic has just stated-
Don't worry about the score, just pick the schools you want in strict order, 1st choice, 2nd choice etc etc, this is very very important. Don't let the primary head or who-ever advise otherwise. Let the clearing system sort it all out.......................... Good luck to all
One intergrated school in Belfast said if they are
Not put first on your list then you have no
Chance of getting a place there!
Very unfair0 -

My son got a low score 87 so no hope of
of a grammar school place b2- but one point of
B1 in GL, put the intergrated school
down first on the form as they said they
needed to be first on list to try for a place
there or no chance (very nice !! )then put a lot of grammar schools
hoping for a miracle !
Someone posted later on about children
With scores in low 80s getting a grammar
School place ,was this special circumstances
please tell? Just hoping for the best outcome

Someone better tell the Universities and employers that they are hopelessly out of date...
Interview with the Principal today. Short and simple, because the second and third placed schools are... Academic... ;-)
I've been hearing scuttlebutt which suggests that scores this year are unexpectedly low in the AQE, for whatever that impression is worth. The Principal said the top score in the province was 128. The 3 top scores in ds school were 118.0
