Blimey holidayaholic £70 is a wee bit steep for a contribution me thinks.

I know! - it was for a weekend in London with theatre : £70 each. It was for her 40th & I don't mind contributing a bit more than normal, but maybe £40. By the time you add in dinner at the pub today for all 4 of us (inc 2 kids who insist they want their own meals then only eat a little bit, oh plus puddings of course) it will be well over £100. And then the rest of the family will be on the wine then want to split the bill equally.

It's our daughter's birthday this month & we can't afford to spend anywhere near that much on her, not that we need to or she'd be spoilt, but that's beside the point (or perhaps highlights that SIL is spoilt...;))

Gave you a wave the other day as I pootled down the bypass.
    (& I dident go to Luca's!)

Thought I saw you ! Hope you had a good day:):)
No NSD for me today - youngest son's only pair of shoes were in a shocking state, all scuffed, and we have a family do today. Went to JJB and used a £5 off voucher that I picked up ages ago in the Fit For Life discount booklet from Asda, so they only cost £10.

I'm annoyed about the dinner this afternoon as it's at a fairly expensive gastropub, but as it's my SIL's birthday, we can't back out. More annoying as we got talked into stumping up £70 contribution towards her present, which we just don't have. I don't want to sound mean & petty, but I can only be generous when I have money to give.

OMG - that is just so annoying and rather presumptious to expect you to pay that kind of money for share of a gift AND a meal. Even for a 40th, its a bit OTT!

That teapot sounds absolutely lovely - you're cuppa wil taste even better out of that!:T

Well, I'm delighted to report that my eyesight has not deteriorated at all. The optician said there is no change in my sight, so no need for new specs:j I did get my self a spare cheapo pair, as I lost my spare pair and I wanted the comfort of knowing I have a back up.
OH only needed new readers , but as he is in construction, he had to get special lenses. Anyhoo, the total was £164, which although is a bit  its a lot less than the £400 I'd set aside.;)
Got my bits of groceries and that is my final shop for Feb - I'm £25 UNDER budget for the month.
Although my NSD total could be better, at least I'm not blowing the bank!
That's us in for the rest of the day. OH is making a nice stew which we'll have with tatties, carrots and mangetout. Good old comfort food for a wet Sunday;)

you will always be rich enough to be generous.

Wow a full NSD weekend! On 7 now

Managed to stay away from QVC Beauty Day and haven't bothered with it - kept myself busy batch cooking, running, cleaning and meal planning and had a good day all timed to finish with the rugby

Nice to have a weekend like this and not worry about going out and spending more after an expensive Friday with shopping, petrol, dog grooming and vets. Balancing out now and aiming for more NSDs next week. Think I'll leave my purse at home for 3 days next week Mon/Wed/Thurs and see how I go on

  • NSD #5 half way, hurrah (many thanks for pointing out how close I was to the midpoint Spoony, that was a real boost!:D)

Ended up spending both yesterday and the day before as buying the finishing touches for the lounge and more decorating. But kept myself busy this morning sorting out the laundry room so everything fit better and now I'm at work so no more chance of a spend as long as I steer clear of online shops later!

Only 5 more to go, but need to plan them in as I'm on holiday for the last week of the month and plan to have a row of spendy days while I'm away. :rotfl:

  • NSD day 7 for me
it was a close call though!
  • Just stopping by to say I'm declaring today and yesterday as NSD's, which brings me up to 6! :) I should be able to squeeze an NSD in tomorrow, but there will be essentials to pick up on Tuesday, out for a drink with a friend Thursday... hmm. The end of the month is looming quickly this time round, but I WILL make it ;)
