  • Hi everyone
NSD number 2 for me please
    P
    X
  • Not an NSD for me today, either....went to Mr T with my sister and didn't need anything. Was quite relieved that they hadn't put the whoopsies out yet (our sm puts them out about 10.30am?!?!), then they started putting them out....uh oh! It would have been rude not to ! Really ! So I got steak for Valentines dinner (I am cooking for DH instead of going out) and some fruit and veg. I would have loved today to have been an NSD, but no way would I have bought sirloin steak full price, so am feeling pleased and determined tomorrow will be an NSD!

Well done to everyone who has had 1 or 2 :D

Aye oop NSD gang, how's tricks? Ok, Mistress Spoon, I'm going to put my oojah where my wotsit is and challenge myself to get 14 NSDs in February. If I do not succeed you can slap my chops with a wet kipper. But don't tell that CW person or she'll be rummaging around in her freezer for the one she rescued off the whoopsie shelf in 1985 but never got round to eating.

Now for some sad news. My car had a little job done on it today, estimated at £30. So, £30 set aside ready. Rang the garage this pm and one of my sodding springs has gone, requiring another £60 to fix. Booger! OH has offered to lend me £50 to help out but I declined, saying I had the money in my account and would rather cut back on other expenditure this month than owe him money. So the Nargle will have to be extra creative with the finances this month - thank goodness it's a short one!

First NSD will probably be Sunday, but hope to get a few next week if I am clever.

  • Aww, it's lovely to have been missed, so thanks to jintyb and Spoon for the welcome back :A

Do it! There's a few of us here over there too, so you'll recognise a few faces :D. You'll be enticed into shopping within your current wardrobe (pulling out the stuf from the back you forgot existed) and wearing them on "freedom" days to get into the habit of wearing what you've already got. And you get to "shop" through other people when we declare spends, which is always fun :D.

Yes join us! It's lots of fun! . . . well, OK it helps a lot anyway!

I was watching TV t'other day & there was a woman on there who set herself a challenge of finding a Wedding Dress with just a £30 budget. She found a lovely clotted-cream coloured creation for £7:99 in a flea market & altered the neckline a little, took some volume out of the skirt & shortened the sleeves. Then she bought a pattern for three quid & pinched her friends ivory damask curtains to make a beautifully simple knee-length dress with matching pashmina. There was a gorgeous old gold border (actually in the curtain material) on the shawl, so the lady added some discrete gold buttons & things to the dress; lovely for an older bride/ second time around. The third was a charity shop mish-mash of a white t-shirt as the basis, with among other things lace curtains & broken pearl costume jewellry, & it looked beeee-you-tee-full! Guess it's a bit like this Challenge--you just have to start looking at things in a very different way....

Ooh, can you remember the name of program? Wouldn't mind find that on iPl@yer or whatever. I'm always looking for some inspiration :D

No3. That chap who plays Alf in Home & Away is in Priscilla, although not in drag. Sometimes I wish lived closer to a big town as I'd love to see The Jersey Boys in particular, plus have access to proper museums instead of Mr Ernest Hipplethwaite's collection of 14 cups from local bus station tea-rooms circa 1972 :( Still, I can take comfort in saving on the entrance fees I suppose :o

Oh I can highly recommend Jersey Boys - was taken by a contractor I worked on a project with last year as a Christmas jolly, so only cost me my train fare! And that got refunded on expenses! :money:

Sorry, all a bit off topic, but I also have NSD no. 1 to declare :T off to update my sig.

Good luck and hugs to all.

Nah! I got that shortly after getting my first house in 1987 - get your facts right my dear ;)

But that one got binned (shock, gasp, horror) after I - and it - moved house in 1991, 2001 and 2002. But I replaced it shortly thereafter, so I still have one that's almost 9 years frozen :rotfl:

  • I go missing for one day & there's is just too much to catch up on, this really is such a busy thread!!

Well yesterday was number 1 :j Really can't believe that i spent the evening giving debt advice to a friend, guess it shows how much i have changed, before i found MSE i think my best piece of advice would have been to get drunk & forget all about it :rotfl:

Today wasn't an NSD as my milk was rude enough to turn on it's use by date  I was hoping i could stretch it out until the grocery shop on Friday, but i really couldn't be milkless until then as i am such a misery in the mornings before my first cuppa kicks in!! Still really pleased that that's all i bought, nothing else not even a whoopsied sausage!

(((((((Big hugs)))))) to all that need them
