Sunnylooloo wrote: »Bit stressful still around Looloo - Getting lots ready for my financial hearing for my divorce and adhering to the timetable set by the exe's side...... only for him to work off his own adgenda and get nothing back on time - still waiting for answers to our questionnaire which should have been back to us 1 week and half back. Had a wobble yesterday - but today back stronger than ever there is nothing I can do to control this - so why should I get myself in knots over it all............. phew sorry!!
LooLoo - Sorry to hear you're have a bit of a struggle just now. I can see you're being strong and positive - that's the best way to get through it. Acknowledge the wobbles and then move on! Remember, we're all here to support you if you need to blow off steam!:)Nargleblast wrote: »Aye oop NSD gang, how's tricks? Ok, Mistress Spoon, I'm going to put my oojah where my wotsit is and challenge myself to get 14 NSDs in February. If I do not succeed you can slap my chops with a wet kipper. But don't tell that CW person or she'll be rummaging around in her freezer for the one she rescued off the whoopsie shelf in 1985 but never got round to eating.
Now for some sad news. My car had a little job done on it today, estimated at £30. So, £30 set aside ready. Rang the garage this pm and one of my sodding springs has gone, requiring another £60 to fix. Booger! OH has offered to lend me £50 to help out but I declined, saying I had the money in my account and would rather cut back on other expenditure this month than owe him money. So the Nargle will have to be extra creative with the finances this month - thank goodness it's a short one!
First NSD will probably be Sunday, but hope to get a few next week if I am clever.
Nargle, sorry to hear ablout the car expenses:(, but your post made me giggle. Thank you:rotfl:butdoineedit? wrote: »I
:j Really can't believe that i spent the evening giving debt advice to a friend, guess it shows how much i have changed, before i found MSE i think my best piece of advice would have been to get drunk & forget all about it :rotfl:
Well done you - I agree before I did this that would have been my advice of choice too!
Today wasn't an NSD as my milk was rude enough to turn on it's use by date  I was hoping i could stretch it out until the grocery shop on Friday, but i really couldn't be milkless until then as i am such a misery in the mornings before my first cuppa kicks in!! I cannot function without my tea in the morning
Still really pleased that that's all i bought, nothing else not even a whoopsied sausage!
(((((((Big hugs)))))) to all that need them
Good morning everyone
Reporting #2 for yesterday. I was very strong and managed to save my bus fare by walking to work from the hospital:money:
Got on fine with my appt. My psoriais is so severe that they have put me on drug therapy. I weighed up the pros and cons of taking them as they have side effects, but the prospect of having clear skin is so exciting, I cant tell you!:j
On the work side, I have discovered that we have an Occupational Health Nurse, so I have made an appointment with her. Basically, she will document all your health issues and medication so the effects of these will be taken into account and your working conditions tailored to suit, ie not working late, frequent breaks etc.
I feel a lot happier with all that!;)
Anyhoo - rambling over. I'm off to have another of my "medicinal" cuppas BDINI!:rotfl:
Have a lovely day everyone:)

Well day 2 in the NSD challenge (insert voice of big bro here for full effect) and all the challenge mates are doing brilliantly............................well apart from little ole me that is
. Yesterday was supposed to be a NSD only had 3bay parcels to post (postage paid by buyer) and a very special facial to attend (never had one before but was given a gift voucher for a place in town so I could treat myself to something and decided to go for it. Would love to do it more frequently but at £47 a pop it aint going to happen
) anyway the weather was awful and the PO isnt on the same route as the bus I could get so I ended up walking and was soaked to the skin really quickly. Didnt fancy sitting through a nice relaxing facial like that so stopped in at NL (who still had a sale on) and picked up a pair of jeans for £3 which I then changed into at the beauty place
. Then as it was already a spendy day I decided to pop into Blockbu$ters to rent a movie for DS and I for our movie day today but found the dvd pre-owned so got it that was instead and some popcorn and sweeties then just to add the icing to the cake I got some woopsies last night at work - pack of 2 finest naan's for 19p, k!ngsm!l crumpets for 17p, some wa!!s mini sausage rolls for 30p and .....................wait for it.........................a 1.77kg piece of finest silverside for £1.77
. Now it should have been over £8 and if you believe the silver sticker that they came in with that price was already better than half price (should have been £10.48 per kg and was reduced to £5 per kg - meaning I got a pieve of beef that should have cost nearly £19 for my £1.77 but that is only if you believe the better than half price sticker.................I struggle to see how it could have ever been nearly £19 but maybe thats just me)
So 2 days into the challenge and 2 spendy daysBUT today will be a NSD as I do not intend to leave the house all day and have everything I need for today just need to remember not to buy anything online!!!
Hope everyone is well and feeling more positive todayEmma

Like I said ^^^^there, it's the way you look at things. Did you enjoy the coffee? Will you find something as good but at a better price next time? Is there a way you & your pal could have something at home sometimes so it doesn't involve shops, cafes or temptation? Would you have even THOUGHT about the cost of those coffees before joining us [STRIKE]mad lot[/STRIKE] careful budgeters?
See? It's not such a waste after all, if it's given you a new way to look at things! Wouldn't Life be boring if we did the same thing over & over
Thank you BigMummaF - you're absolutely right and it's something I rarely do as I rarely pass Starbucks.
Well today is the big day for my youngest dd as she starts her big adventure to Australia. Naturally I'm sad to see her leave (my last baby is leaving home) but I'm also a very proud mum and happy that she's doing something she's wanted to do for years (ever since she watched her first episode of Neighbours:D). She's heading for Melbourne so well out of the "storm/flooding zone".
I'm not sure whether today will turn into a spendy day - depends how long it takes me to stop blubbing!!:rotfl:0 -

Just catching up on everyone's posts. Have to say what a lovely supportive bunch of people. Thanks to solventsoon who must spend a lot of time keeping this challenge up to date.
Everyone is doing really well. I am aiming for NSD #2 today. Should be able to do it. Don't foresee any unscheduled spending. Will go for a walk at lunch as there are blue skies, can't waste those! But will leave the purse at work.
Have a great day everyone, nearly the weekend :j*Official DFW Nerd #1368 - Proud to be dealing with my debts*

Hi
I did not manage a NSD yesterday as we ran out of milk. Will try harder today and think about how to plan for running out of bread/milk etc better next week.
Good luck to all
