Good evening everyone - I hope I havent confused you all!
After nights of insomnia, did I not go and sleep in this morning!LOL!
We are always mad busy at the end of the month so I have barely lifted my head today. Got some funny looks when I left at 5.20 when the rest of the team were working late. However, I stated categorically when I took this new role that I wouldnt be working late, so I stuck to my guns and left ( while inside I was screaming with guilt!) I should be off anyway ( comp leave for MIL, which I declined cos they were so busy) and I refuse to get stressed over this ( but I feel I am!)
We have been sorting out Mil's affairs and also trying to rehome her wee dog, which is really upsetting. He is a very spoiled and grumpy Westie, who is not good with kids/ other dogs, so none of the family can take him. We have managed tp find a nice elderly man who has lots of time and patience to give him a home so that's good.
Anyhoo, OH picked me up and we had a very romantic dinner at McD's, which I thoroughly enjoyed ( I'm a cheap date:rotfl:)
Just trying to keep it together till the funeral on Thurs, then I think I will take a day off next week.
Enough waffle from me - welcome to all our newbies, and great to see 3 DOGS, Sunnylooloo and Karma back.
Oh, today was NSD#1 - yay!

    Have a lovely evening everyone:)

you will always be rich enough to be generous.
  • Hey Everyone!

I had a spend day today, went to the cinema with 2 of my girl mates. We watched Black Swan (very weird film) but it was a little bit moneysaving as it was 'Saver Tuesday' ! Tickets were only 2.95 and I got a popcorn/drink combo for 2.95 also.

Tomorrow I have the food shop to do, also got to fill up my car with petrol. I'm planning for Thursday, Sat and Sun to be NSD's :-)

Spend day for me - but 1st of month always is unless it's a weekend, due to my gas/electricity D/Debit going out.
Checked the Whoopsies as I left work to see if it was worth going back after 5pm/7pm, but nothing of interest.
Went to A!di and picked up bread (whoopsied which was an added bonus), milk and potatoes, and then called into B'n'M to see if there was anything of interest. Gave in to a 400g block of Wensleydale with cranberries (£1.79, which I didn't think was a bad price for a speciality cheese), a vastly reduced pack of vienesse whirls, and a pack of caramel chocolate digestives (bad case of munchies for no apparent reason today!)

Evening all! Well today WOULD have been a NSD had my boss not dropped some very unsublte hints yesterday that we had not got him a card for his B'Day in Jan *rolls eyes* he wasn't even in the office on his B'Day. So, had to get card, two bottes of wine (on offer) and a bag today to keep him quiet (though he'll get it next week when we hopefully go out for a belated Xmas team lunch) so that's £4 I wasn't planning to spend. Based on that I splurged 39p on a roll from M&S to go with the Covent Garden soup I'd taken in for lunch (hmmm.not sure how MSE it is buying soup even if it's in the monthly shop - but it was £1 a carton and that will do me for 2 days)

Tomorrow will be spendy too, out for dinner in the evening and my brows are crying out to be done - have been putting it off since last week and have avoided it for the past couple of days with my poorly eye. Could also do with petrol on Thurs and am out with an old friend I've not seen for ages on Sat so Feb isn't getting off to the best of starts.

Jinty - I'm glad you found a new home for your MILs dog - I can appreciate how heart wrenching it must have been but it sounds like he's found the perfect home and will continue to be spoiled lots. (my MIL used to feed their Jack Russel flumps!)

Looking forward to a virtual tipple with you Sunnyloo, I would say we'll bring the Tardis to the London Dungeon but I've been once and that was enough for me  and prob best not to take Hubert somewhere like that ....:rotfl::rotfl:

Right - in an effort to curb my exuse and clothing spending I have decided that I am going to list out the only clothes I am allowed to purchase for the next couple of months (ideally before our holiday in May), this consists of bra (there is a reason behind that as its one from the US and I want a friend to bring it with them in March when I see them), bikini (possibly) and some leggings as mine are going a bit see through - apart from that nada - zilch - nothing....now that should help me save some pennies...I hope....perhaps I should join the crazy clothes challenge

Do it! There's a few of us here over there too, so you'll recognise a few faces :D. You'll be enticed into shopping within your current wardrobe (pulling out the stuf from the back you forgot existed) and wearing them on "freedom" days to get into the habit of wearing what you've already got. And you get to "shop" through other people when we declare spends, which is always fun :D.

I did really well last year until wedding season hit and I was blinded by gorgeous new dresses and went bust. Oops! So this year I set a more realistic target! And last night I popped on there right about the time the £bay auction I was watching was ending so I avoided bidding altogether. It's all good and I learn from all the fashionistas who are much braver with their wardrobe then I am! :T
