Bridge the gap with the February NSD challenge

Hi All,
This challenge is definitely helping to reduce my spends, though I still have a way to go to keep control when I do spend, and haven't quite worked out how to balance trying to make myself wait to decide if I really want something, and getting it bought/ordered on an already spendy day so I don't have another spendy day later in the week. Guess the answer is to wait longer than a day or two before going ahead, but haven't managed that as yet.
I'm with you here, ebsaver!:beer:0 -

So..... erm.........
I've decided to (dis)gracefully withdraw from the Feb NSD challenge. I've not kept a proper track of things but know from what I have managed to track that I have been doing terribly.
So good luck everyone in reaching your targets this month and keeping control of hubert and I'll see you on the March challenge all bright eyed, bushy tailed and ready for a better challenge month.

You’ve changed a lot over the past few months, though, you can get through this patch. The new job and lots more money is just over the horizon, keep that in mind and you’ll get there (((((hugs))))) x:A
Recipe sounds good, would like to try that, if you don’t mind posting it?
You must be my lucky charm Spoon, CRB check came back today, so shouldn't be long at all till i can start my new job!!
Recipe:
450g (ish) of belly pork
4 tablespoons soy sauce
1 dessertspoon chopped fresh ginger (although i used my storecupboard jar & it was fine)
1 star anise
1 cinammon stick
1 teaspoon caster sugar
3 tablespoons rice wine (although i used rice vinegar as thats what i had in the cupboard & that was fine too)
Cut pork into cubes (leave skin on) & arrange skin side down in a flameproof casserole dish.
Sprinkle with soy sauce & 1 tablespoon of water, the chopped ginger, whole star anise & cinnamon stick crumbled into small pieces.
Cover & turn on the heat full. As soon as the sauce starts to bubble turn down to lowest heat & leave to cook for 45 mins.
After 45 mins, add the sugar & rice wine, turn the pork & cover & cook for another 45 mins, stirring once or twice to brown the pork evenly. (it looked quite fatty when i had finished cooking it & i was worried that it would be chewy, but don't worry it's meant to look like that 7 you don't taste the fat at all!)
I had it with steamed strips of cabbage & leek & some coconut rice.NSD no 16 today.
Tired,tired,tired.
Hope you ok Beanie?
Off for a very quick drink now, but as i have already put the money to one side i'm declaring number 12 now, that will ensure i definitely don't go over my £6 budget :beer:February NSD challenge 5/150 -
I am pleased to say that I have had nsd no 12 today - its amazing how much pleasure I am getting from being able to say "I haven't bought anything today" - how bizarre is that. I get kind of disappointed if we need to get something.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0
