Your figures look a lot better - you've got 800MB RAM free, compared to just 54MB before. Does the computer feel any faster/more responsive?

do you need vuze toolbars? it clears up the log if nothing else doing step 7
how is this networked? belkin usb or mains?!!

yes i did step 9 - every 5 mins. I thought id got Vuze. I think ill just uninstall the whole thing - i've never used it.0

step 9 - mini monitor isn't running.

Got it - mini monitor showing 37 in a green box
java bits unticked (thats changed since i printed the list out - missed it!)
... then i restarted and its now showing 53, in yellow... thts not so good i guess
... and its gone down to 39... is there a range thats normal!?0 -
Ok - it really does seem to be a lot better now, so Im going to sort out the back up stuff tomorrow and take it from there. Thanks so much to closed and Poppy for talking me through it - expeically when i wasnt getting it at all!

anything below 90-95 is good, when it gets to 100 it will start swapping processes to disk, which is fine, but the machine will be a little less responsive swapping between tasks!!
