Hello
I bought this tv on new years day 2010 , so the warranty has just expired.A week or so ago , the picture disapeared and the screen then displayed 'No Signal'.I used the factory reset option to reload the channels , only for them to disapear again a few minutes later!I've gone through this process a number of times , and more usually the pictures will remain , only to have gone again the next time the set is switched on.
The set is conected to a Freeview+ box which continues to recieve a signal , at 100% strenth .I explained this to Lg , who told me that it was a tuner problem , which Currys would repair ''Out of Warrenty'.Currys will be collecting the set on wednesday , and have charged a £60 inspection fee , refundable if a fault is found.
From the above , I believe that the tuner is faulty , and will have to be replaced. Can anyone out there suggest anything that I may have missed at my end which would explain the problem. If so , you will save me £60 and a lot of hassle!
Any thoughts welcome.
regards.

Take the aerial feed from the Freeview+ box and place directly in to the TV and try again.0

Amazing that Curry's will repair anything, let alone once it's out of warranty. Sounds like a known issue for which LG are picking up the tab.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Possibly, I've known a couple of LG TVs to lose their tuning constantlySquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

As suggested , I plugged the ariel into the back of the tv.This gives a signal , which is still there when I switch back on.However , this disapears when the ariel is pluged back into the PVR with the PVR on stand-by.The signal is there again when the PVr is switched on , so it seems that this is the only time when the tv will display a picture.
Does this sound more like an ariel issue than a problem with the tv tuner?I should have mentioned before that my local transmitter has recently had an upgrade requiring the tv and pvr to be retuned.Maybe I will need to upgrade the arial.

I can't follow your latest post, but if it works via one tuner but not on another, then clearly it's not a aerial problem, it's the tuner.
How are you connecting the PVR to the TV?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

How are you connecting the PVR to the TV?
I think I follow it. You will need a second RF lead to connect the PVR to the TV for the TV to receive signal when the PVR is off. If you have this, then it's worth checking the connection, replacing the lead, etc - it's looking like a PVR issue now, most probably a connection problem.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. Ah, I get it now as well! Correct, the pass-through RF output socket must connected to the TV if you want to pass the signal through when the PVR is off. It won't work via SCART or HDMI when off.
That will pass the signal direct to the TV tuner. The SCART/HDMI simply pass the signal from the PVR tuners, which obviously won't generate any signal if not powered up.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Do you have a cable going from the RF out on the freeview box to the aerial IN on the TV?
If not put one in, if so and the signal is being attenuated for some reason fit:

on the aerial feed and send one lead to the TV and one to the freeview box.
You donot need to upgrade your aerial if the information you have posted is correct.0 -
I'm connecting the pvr to the tv via the Tv/VCR slot , as per instruction book , using what I assume is an RF lead. The lead did'nt come with the PVR , but is one I had probably from my last VCR , which connected to a TV in the same way.
Is it worth buying a new RF lead perhaps?I've canceled the Currys inspection , and will be following some the advice kindly recieved here.

PVR should be connected by SCART or HDMI.
Make and model of your PVR?No free lunch, and no free laptop0
