If any of you live near Harrogate this is a great shop to buy fleece, and other fabric. They usually have small pieces, about 30cm square, which they sell off... http://www.remnanthouse.co.uk/index.php?page=2&category=Fleece%2C%20Furs%20%26%20Felts

I got some from there at the weekend. They'll cut scarf-type lengths off rolls of fleece for you, £1.50 each. Great selection of colours.

JCR do you ever come across shopping off the island, there must be some fabric stores near the ports.

we do get off the island when on holiday and seeing family. but i'm one of these peeps who when on holiday i don't go shopping. my children are only 7, 5 and 2 and for them it not fun to go round lots of different stores, they rather be at zoo or park, which i totally understand.

However if we drove past a store that sold fabric hubby would prob stop so i could have a quick look and if it was good, would plan a visit to it a bit later on within the week. team it up with something else.

we are seriously condiering a move to mainland, when house hunting i might add in to the list a decent fabric store within a few miles, lol.:rotfl:

Sorry no I haven't, you could make a blanket with the different areas I guess. I almost did the story with actions at my grandsons birthday 1 year, cousin to the one in pictures. Wish I had gone ahead with my idea. We used our church building so there are lots of rooms. I planned to walk round the building with the children and have them go into different rooms with me as we met the adventures head on !

http://oneofakindgiftideas.blogspot.com/2010/01/i-see-monster-sock-puppets.html I made this sock puppet idea and all the food was made from fleece for my grandson for his birthday in January. As the caterpillar eats the food he gets fatter as you put wrist through the food and leave it on your arm. Hope this makes sense. NOT my idea, just 1 I copied

I also worked from this idea... http://www.etsy.com/listing/30430419/caterpillar-to-butterfly-life-cycle-toy to make the cocoon, it looked like a large fleece bra but worked great
