Ordered 3 tops for my daughter and cardi for me. Arrived in 2 deliveries at my daughters last thursday. She still has not even bothered to let me know whether they fit or if she even likes them!! My parcel went back to PO as no one in don't even know if she has picked that up either. Why do I bother

I ordered one of the Shearling Jackets ( the link above that Claire posted ) earlier for the wife, I choose store delivery, was that mistake ? only reading elsewhere on here they might cancel the order

From my own experience (as a battle-scarred veteran of many M&S online sales), I would order only with an expectation of not getting the item ordered.

If you do get it, then great! If not, then you won't be too disappointed.

My guess is that this is not real stock that's showing up on the site. It may be that cancelled orders (due to no stock availability) are causing the items to appear to be back in stock again. For example, a coat is advertised as being '1 instock' but 2 orders are raised at a similar time. The item then goes out of stock. When staff start trying to pick the items for the 2nd order, there's nothing to pick, as the first order for it. The second order gets cancelled, email goes to customer saying sorry blah blah, but the stock level increases by one, as the system sees that an order for it has been cancelled and therefore thinks that the item is available again.

Just a theory, but I know that I didn't get the item I wanted (yet again!).

I think the same thing happened a while back - cocktail shakers anyone?

Why would marks email me saying "Sorry, delivery delays are affecting your Marks & Spencer order " And then the following day email me to say the items have gone out of stock? How can delivery delays affect items they clearly haven't got???

I know I am another sale veteran that should expect this but the whole thing is rather annoying and frustrating.
