Would you mind if I join? See my signature down there, I am now 10st 5 so that didn't happen - and I started weight watchers yesterday yet today managed to eat 2 brownies and 2 pecan caramel danish - I feel sick from all that sugar and the brownies weren't even that nice yet I keep eating that crap! What is wrong with me that I just can't say no to that type of food! I really want to sort out my body now and I think I could really do with the support here!

    Welcome :A
OOOOh montymud I know exactly how you feel, I was soo happy with all my food choices today and as soon as I'd finished congratulating myself on how good I had been, something weird happened to me and I ended up having a bag of crisps and THREE great big shortbread biscuits - GRRRR! I feel so disappointed in myself, WHY CAN I JUST NOT RESIST?!?!?!? The strangest thing is that normally I don't even like crisps or biscuits but as soon as I am not supposed to be eating them I just can't think of anything else....oh the forbidden fruit is always the sweetest

    Ain't that the truth :o
Hello - can I join in please?

I'm currently living in Sydney, Australia and surrounded by bronzed beauties all the time, so when it comes to getting my grey-white flabby body out at the beach, I just feel horrific about myself. I'm the biggest I've ever been and have gone from being "the skinny one" in my group of friends to the "chubby one". I hate clothes shopping because everything looks gross on me, and it's actually affecting my confidence at work and in social situations.

Anyway, enough doom and gloom - onwards and upwards and all that! Here's my plan:

    - Walk to work and back at least 10 days this month ie 20 in total (will only be in the office for about 15 working days in Feb due to holidays/visitors/travelling/offsite meetings).
    - Do at least 4 each x Body Pump, Bikram, Run and Swim over the course of the month
    - No sweets, chocolate, cake or crisps (except on special occasions like OH's birthday and Valentine's day).

    So far, the results are:

    1/20 w2w
    0/4 BP
    0/4 Yoga
    0/4 Run
    0/4 Swim

My real downfall is boredom eating - I snack on anything and everything going. Any tips for how to avoid this? Plus I'm a real chocoholic :(

Ooh, I feel all motivated and excited to join a little group! Good luck guys!

    BM :)

I have the Paul McKenna thin thing on my ipod, perhaps I should start listening to that too?

Firstly - you lucky swine!!! Wish I was living somewhere warm. :D

Secondly - use the constant visual reminders (i.e. the skinny girls in bikinis) as super-motivation. In warm countries, I naturally eat less because I wear less (i.e. the fat is there on display all the time and it probably subconsciously helps me to cut back). The good weather is also fab for exercising - think about how hard it is to get motivated here in cold, rainy northern Europe!

Thirdly - yes, listen to PMcK and let us know how you get on with it.

I totally know how you feel - my weight is really affecting my confidence too, to the point where
I don't really like going out as hardly anything fits me and I feel a frump. But we can do something about it!!!
    Good luck! :T

Don't shout at me, I know I've been AWOL and I'm sorry!

I've edited my signature and as you can see, the only thing that went on in 2010 was about 1 1/2 stone in weight :o

Anyway, Dragon, please count me in, I've weighed this morning at 20st 8lb, and have got back on the wagon and here's hoping for a weigh loss of ANY kind this month!!

Good luck to everyone old and new!!

    :T Hi there!

I find the low cal hot chocolate drink quite handy fo weak moments, choccy cravings etc, made up with water about 40cals......although while it's nice to have in the UK in Feb, I notice it's 30 degrees in Sydney, so maybe not. Perhaps you could make an iced version or a mocha frappe??!!

I do have these every so often but they are almost too sweet IYKWIM! :rotfl: Making it cold is a great idea. If I want something sweet but low cal I prefer mint tea usually. It is also a good drink for hot climates. HTH. :)

Oh dear... I am not doing well today foodwise!

    So far I've had:

    2 boiled eggs
    4 pears
    1 raw red pepper
1 Campbell's Cup-a-Soup (chicken) with 1 slice bread and butter (so far so good - not the best lunch but not too bad calorie-wise)... and then I messed up by having...

Several spoonfuls of Nutella straight from the jar!!!! :( Not making a slim choice there at all! I am so mad at myself. I'll be having a very light dinner to make up for it, and making an extra effort at Curves as well. I am not going to be derailed by one slip-up!

I also weighed in this morning... 143lbs (10st3lbs) - argh! I'm actually 1lb heavier than I was last week! So that's my starting weight for Feb Dragon, if you're recording on the first post. Maybe it's not that bad - it may be extra muscle from all the workouts. But still. :( Right, the top is going back on the jar NOW as I am feeling a bit ill!

I have been so good today :smug smilie: I only had one slice of toast for first breakfast (I was at work for 6am, and I never feel like eating that early but I have to as I take tablets) and then I had Special K clusters for later breakfast. I don't see the point in them - they don't sit nicely on your spoon or mix with milk well. Then I had a salad, apple and yoghurt for lunch.

Was good yesterday, but ate too many nuts! Did 1 hour in the gym and a 30 minute JM DVD so hopefully that sorted things.

Got spinning tonight and step tomorrow. x

Naughty Dragon! You need to look after yourself hon xoxoxo :A

I am doing well today… had 2 boiled eggs and 2 walnuts for breakfast and haven't had the urge to snack at all. I've also had a cup of mint tea, yummers. Lunch will be a cup-a-soup with a salad sandwich, and dinner will be tasty delights courtesy of OH. He is in a real experimental mode in the kitchen atm so goodness knows what it will be… but I will try not to eat too much!

Going to Curves again this evening, then away to my mum's for the weekend so will have a break till Monday. I'll try to get out for a walk at the weekend though, and if the weather is bad I'll do some resistance exercises in the house. I am super motivated right now and want to make the most of it!

Have a good day girls xo
