Oh dear well half term has descended here and i was doing so well with only one trip to the supermarkets a week and staying well within budget :T and then half term arrives...and i've so far been to the supermarket(s) 3 times
Am in danger of seriously blowing the budget here!!! How do you all avoid them!! I went the first day with eldest son and spent £65 but to be honest i am only counting £50 of this as grocery budget money as £15 was for a parcel to be sent to hubby and i used a different budget for that. then i went again although only spent £5 on bits i forgot
(how unorganised and i had a list!!) and today i went again as i forgot mine & hubby's anniversary and my best mate's birthday (i am very forgetful yes lol) SO i spent another £20 today, although out of thta i got dishwasher tablets £9, bin bags £2.50 (a$da's offers) and i want to take that out of next months grocery budget as i don't actually need them they were just too good an offer to pass up....so this week -so far- i have spent £63.50 so my running total is (hmmm i don't know) ....is in my signature which i will go update :rotfl:oh god my brain turns to mush at the thought of a school holiday :rotfl:

Well folks have been spending again. A total of £14.13 between Mr A and Mr T in the last 2 days. Anything else I buy will be from March budget though so I am declaring £298.16 for February. Also can I have a budget of £275 again for March please as I really dont want to be spending £300 on groceries.
I do meal plan but have been known to change at last minute if I just dont fancy something. I know I can be a lot thriftier than I have been so am hoping to be more successful next month:)Payment A Day £15 (started 17/5/14) :j0 -
I am now £18.85 over budget
I did set my budget low though, so I'm not tooooo bothered, although I hate not achieving target (I know, I know, no 'F' word!). Should think I will spend another £10 or so to the end of the month... we'll see
Congrats to all those coming in on or below target :TPart time GCer, NSDer, Comper and (Bad)FlyladyA big shot is just a little shot that kept shooting ...0 -
im keeping the food budget under control this month but the other pot is taking a hammering.
we had subscidence so the insurance excess was £1,000 then we thought while the rooms are bare well have the carpets done £400(they previously only had big offcuts in them) and the windows needed replacing £600. then we brought 2 new internal doors and handles so they finally match the rest of the house. so with the tester pots and bits of wood we needed weve seen off about £2,500:eek::eek:
will be needing to keep the household budget tight for a while to claw that backSPC~12 ot 124

I am in the same boat. Boiler conked out and needs replaced. A big chuck of savings disappeared. Makes keeping control of the household budget even more important.
The house is so cold. I said to DS 3 that i was so cold that I need a coffee, could he go to the shop and get milk. He came back with coffee! At least it was a reduced price jar. He popped back for the milk. I will be so glad to get back from our weekend away to a warm house. I really feel for people that struggle to heat their house. The cold makes it so hard to function properly.
My meat arrives tomorrow and my fruit deliveries start next week. I have everything planned this month. (At least I think I do) I need to buy chicken for the freezer next week.GC 2011 Feb £626.89/£450 NSD3/7 March £531.26/£450 April £495.99/£500 NSD 0/7 May £502.79/£500

Updated my total with spends today, had to give in and buy Fruit, it's Half Term and can't have empty fruit bowls.
Dinner tonight is Sausages, mash, carrots, peas & sweetcorn with loads of gravy, pudding is a HM steamed syrup sponge.;)
Should be a NSD tomorrow and Thursday, but will have to go shopping Friday.:A
Forecast not looking good for tomorrow so I will stay in and get some baking done, need to make some more rolls, have some soured cream to use up which I think I'll use in Soda bread and fancy making something chocolatey.:)"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

Hi not been posting for a while but still been doing the challange on my own, and not doing so bad. Have had a lot of family things going on over the last few months but now things are now more or less back to normal and hopefully I will have more time to post and lurk. Have luckily managed to get a 0% cc for 17 months and started to chip away at our debt .Have worked out we may be able to finish them by Dec this year. with DH company going through a lot changes in the next few month things are unsure so the sooner we get rid of debts the better. I would like to join in March's challange please and am going to go for £140 this include toiletries, food and DS3 lunches. DS2 is at the moment unemployed so is back at home. Will be looking on Weezles £100 a month for recipie ideas. We have also been ebaying and made nearly £200 this month.Iin the past DH could'nt be bothered to list and take photos etc, but as things are going to be tough he has given it a go and is hooked! That money will go towards holiday booked with family at Easter so only spending money to find. Sorry for the long post folk but its nice to be back. savvyM&S 2,200.00
