It's an online butcher supplying meat direct called Donald Russell.

Have you tried your local butcher though esmer? We find ours far better value and quality than anything you would buy in a supermarket. Normally they will supply locally produced meat too. I haven't eaten sm meat in years even before joining here. And if it's an independent and local it's good for the community too. Double bonus!

    Hope that helps,

Yes we have a decent grocers and butchers, just wanting to see what else there is out there. :) thanks so much :)

But on an upnote Mr T's vouchers did finally arrive, but looks like 2 or 3 of the points boosting vouchers will go to waste this time as its on a new credit card and wrinkle cream. • Very pleased I managed a NSD. So tired tonight and would love a relaxing bath. Unfortunately our boiled died today. It is beyond repair. We were planning to replace it in May but it looks like it will have to be next week. The plumber is sending us the quote tomorrow. I now have to keep to my budget next month!

£3.99 spent today in Mr S...£2.99 on a large jar of coffee, and £1 spent on a pack of pork mince (in the reduced aisle - 50% off is about as good as I get!).

There were a few things I could of got (bread in particular), but I don't fancy much bread at the moment so didn't bother.

  • Oh, poor you laineyc! I hate it when stuff dies when you're not ready for it!! I have to buy a washing machine this week for that very reason! Unfortunately, mine has been in the outhouse and got frozen for 3 years in a row. Will get a plumber in to give a quote for putting one in the house, although the only place there's space is in the conservatory. Bummer!!

NSD today, thank goodness! Shouldn't need to buy anything until at least next tuesday now. I'm going away for the night on monday (well, day, night, day) and that's all being paid for by someone else, and have enough stuff in to do until then. Just need to steer clear of the shops! However, I have just gone through my tes'o vouchers, and I have one for £5.50 that expires 28/2/11, so I think I'll use that towards the end of the month, to try and not go over the budget.

    Hi all

Hipeechiq - I think you deserve an award for doing a 6 week meal plan!:j I struggle doing a week or at most a fortnight. Like you though, I like to know the night before, what we're having for tea so I can get it out of the freezer in the morning and there's no going back then!

I recently complained to Cadbury because my sons mini egg dessert only had a measly 3 mini eggs in it... They sent me £5 in vouchers for taking the time to complain!:j

We are going through bananas and other fruit like mad at the moment especially as I'm doing Weightwatchers! Popped into Lidl today and got some bags of frozen berries and raspberries for making nice healthy smoothies in the morning. Today I tried porridge with a handful of sultanas in and it was lovely. Didn't need any extra sugar.

Got about £100 to last until the 28th. MIGHT make it but with half term we might be out of routine and either eat too much or badly. We'll have to see how it goes.

Dug some nut roast out of the freezer and made oatcakes so ate those for our evening meal.

Managed to purchase some good reduced pork chops. Should have been £2.80 a pack and got them for £1.40 per pack. We don't eat much meat but it's always nice to have some stashed in the freezer.

  • 2nd post for me today!

Well I have already gone over budget! After posting this morning I decided to go to a different town to look for some clothes for my DS to wear tomorrow for his class's carnival day. This was close to an Asd*s so of course I popped in there to see their offers & also cos I had run out of wine & its been a long week what with Ofstead plus Ds seems to have reverted to a two year old this week along with some jaw dropping tamptrums to go with it! Anyway, I got 3 bottles of wine for a tenner, some of the gluten free cereal & garlic bread that I always struggle to get elsewhere & a few of the other offers. The staff wouldn't even let me use the self checkout due to having too much stuff in my trolley! Oh dear!

Roll on March, is all I can say really!

  • :o Well over my target and it's only the 16th :o

Hopefully next month I will do better and maybe start with a more realistic target :)
