I took out a contract with Vodafone via Quidco and got £90 back. Then another £90! It did take time but was worth it. I use Quidco for all things I need cashback for and have always found them to be good.

I've had a few things not tracked with Quidco lately. Haven't tried TCB yet.
Me too, still waiting for over a year for cash back from Churchill and Sheila's Wheels. Not tried TCB yet.

Thanks for the feedback everyone - very much appreciated!!

I have attempted, for my sins, to go for the £20 iPhone Vodafone sim only deal via TopCashBack. Really hope everything goes ok!

I will update what happens so people in similiar positions to myself will have some sort of reference point to base their own decisions on and I would encourage those who have/are using either TCB or Quidco to do the same. I know there are other threads for each of the cashback providers/mobile companies etc but I'd like to think of this one as more a comparison.

So far the only thing that has happened is that the transaction has tracked for £15. According to the Merchant's notes on TCB, this is normal:

"All sim only cashback will initially track at £15 and will be updated to the correct amount after the validation period."

The average tracking speed according to TCB for Vodafone is 7 hours. Mine tracked after about 6 or so hours so touch wood its on course to be paid within the average payment speed of 6 weeks, 5 days.

Thanks again everyone and my apologises in advance if I'm treading on anyones toes with this thread - It's just something I think may be useful to someone!
  • This is the thread of discussion with topcashback, they was happy to reply immeidately with general enquiries but soon as you want the money they do not pay you. it took six months nearly for money to become payable and then i requested a payment on 23/12/11 and they said should be paid in a few days and i am still waiting. You can only contact them by email and they just completely ignore you!.

    14/01/11 Hi,

This is ridiculous has the payment been made or not !!!

I am not waiting another 10 days for you to make the payment !!!

You need to come back to me today and explain whether the payment has been made or when it will be made, as i know atleast 10 people I have reffered to come on here I will tell them to come off using this website it is clearly awful when it takes 6months to get any cashback!

I also write a columb for Insurance Age magizine I will be sure to leave very bad feedback for this site!

as since i made my orignal transaction it has taken 6 months to get the cashback and i still have not received it!!!

You ask your customer to recoomend you but what would you like me to recomend ? that the cast back always comes approx two months after your approx date and the fact fact i asked to withdraw £41.55 on 17th Dec and im still waiting?

Could you let me know asap when i will receive this thank you.

    02/12/10 Hi Michael,

    Thank you for your enquiry.

We have not yet received payment in connection with these transactions. Please allow a further 4 - 6 weeks for these to progress to payable.

It is not unusual for policy/contract based transaction to take longer to progress to payable status. This is usually because the merchant tends to allow the policy to be running for several months before awarding the cashback. They do this to ensure a member does not take out a policy, gain the cashback and then cancel the policy. I am in no way implying that you would do this but explaining why this happens.

We realise in these circumstances that our systems for indicating the estimated payable date are not perfect but I hope that this updates you.

    Kind regards,
    Vicky
02/12/10 Hi to be honest i find it a bit ridiculous, i know its not your fault but its getting on for 9weeks after the approx date and still nothing received, also i have the £20 due for Equifax and again this one has not bee made?

    thank you

    16/11/10 Hi

    Thank you for your enquiry.

I have just checked this merchants payment records and it seems that we received a payment from this merchant in September to pass onto members who had made transactions up the beginning of July.

We are sorry for the delay that you are experiencing but please allow this transaction to progress, as we need to wait for this merchant to pass on the cashback to us, so that we can award it to our members.

We try to give members an indication of when payments are likely to be made by including a Statistic box on each merchant’s page; this gives details of average payment speed and payment performance, plus information regarding when we last received payment to pass onto members. We hope that by visiting this page you will get an indication as to how each merchant performs.

From time to time we do encounter delays and I am sorry that if you have been affected.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards
    Ginny

15/11/10 My cashback was due on 30/09/10 and still not received despite waiting the month recommended, infact i have waited over 6 weeks later.

Please could this be chased or could youy explain when this will be avaliable for me to withdraw.

    thank you

Are you saying that you took out one contract with Vodafone via Quidco & got £90 from Quidco, then you took a second contract out with Vodafone via Quidco & got another £90 from Quidco?

Because that is what I want to do with another company. If it was as described, how far apart were the transactions?

    Thanks.
  • As promised in my earlier post, I said I'd keep you folks updated about my tcb with Vodafone and today the status changed.

It has now went to confirmed for the £15 but has not yet went up to the £100.

Any more updates and I'll make sure to post em here asap.

It was just the one contract. The other £90 was an obvious error! Although it is per contract so in theory I assume you could do this.

Hi, if you use a third party retailer such as mobiles.co.uk/E2Save/Buymobilephones.net you can get double cashback however the better the phone the less the retailer cashback. As an example, I recently purchased a cheaper phone for my son with £360 automatic cashback from the retailer and £50 cashback from Quidco, surprisingly I got payment from both within 3 weeks of purchasing.
