  • I have bought this book just after christmas and have received it after the new year due to the hih demands...It has been one of the good books that I have read, and you definitely don't want to put it down once you have started. My OH was curious about the book and so encouraged him to have a read through...It is now both out book of survival along with the rest of Martin's books. highly recommended and definitely worth keeping or passing on to the needy ( being debt free and living frugally in times of trouble...):p

Great book, it's handy to have it all in one place and we've already tried some of the tips and recipes. Even the kids were amazed by what you can use for cleaning. Thanks Martin

If you can make it cheaper do so. If it's not reduced, in Primark, off ebay or free I can't have it

Bought "Thrifty Ways" today from a charity shop! Quite expensive at 1.50, but the copy looked unread. Duplicated gift perhaps?

Hi again:) I bought both of the books last year, and i have found them fantastic. Two of the best books i have ever read, and i am always looking through them. I am going to buy both as a gift for my son who is 24 and will be starting out on his own at some point:)
I am very happy to be on this site, and a lovely way to stay in touch with like minded people.

Got mine early this year in a dicount book shop - £4.99 I think however worth every penny for the easy spagetti sauce recipe in the slo cooker. Make it nearly every week, and freeze half, it is yummy. Also white vinegar, in every wash, to clean the dishwasher and the plughole and the windows. This book should be on everyones wedding list, for students, anyone setting up home. The tips not only save you money but the planet too!

  • White Distilled Vinegar is now taking on the character of a Rare Good as I was unable to buy some in my local Tesco (Highwoods Colchester) so it's aqquisition with the de rigeur essential oil and citric acid and or adored Lemons ( I am the original Lemon Freak) is almost an act of charming subversion !!!!
(perhaps a Forum ought to be opened as to how to be charming, nay loving (??!!) to those we have to take an Adversarial Position too.[how nice coming from an Ex Financial PR guy my Sister is also in Financial PR ].
