I just received my copy of Thrifty Ways today about 11am. Just going to have a quick look through. Haven't got time to sit down to read it just now but it's looks really good. Maybe just wrap it and leave it until Christmas Day when I'll have time to. Looks good.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. I had a quick flick through and for the bargain price that I paid for the book, it is certainly value for money. Heck I was in Waterstones earlier and I had a look at a book to do with household management etc and it didn't have a fraction of the info that is in the Thrifty Ways book and it was nearly £20. I like the size of the book too, handy and very user friendly. Not a hulking big book that you have to wrestle with to keep open etc. A book I'll certainly be referring to a lot for sure. :T“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. Try Waterstones.com - Thrifty is £5.49 and Diet is £3.99. Delivery is free for orders over £15 or you can have them delivered to your local store for free as well. Great stuff.0

I noticed that book is on promotion in 2 of my town's 3 bookshops - Waterstones and Sussex stationers and with window promotions - well done! Or is it the marketing dept of your publishers?...
I love Thrifty Ways and although I was initially a bit disappointed (lots of stuff I already did), on revisiting there is loads in there. Prompted me to buy a slow cooker so that I can cook hearty stews for hubby who often gets in late and a lot of the stuff I have been making up to now for him requires cooking on the spot. Having said that I still cooked him egg, bacon, potato wedges and green beans at 11pm last night as the beef stew hadn't been cooking for long enough! I ordered a vegetarian slow cooker recipe book from the library, but it is american so lots of similar type menus - some nice ideas though.
I have also discovered my local car boot sale does splendid vegetables with a huge stall (no greengrocers in my town) and a butchers where I got 4 huge steaks for £10! It appears to be cooking beautifully in my slow cooker.
Anyway, great book.0 -
Both books are cheaper on Amazon at the mo, i think it is £3.89 from Browseforbooks and the Money Diet is £3.79. Just need an amazon code to get you free delivery.....
