Hi Choc! Hows its going? I do love the coloured lists at the top, very nice! Might make my next one look a bit more interesting!!

Just noticed the post below, isn't 1p per day £3.65 as opposed to £365? Would be nice if it was £365 wouldn't it!!

Yep that's what I think MinniMe meant and I meant to write the same but couldn't be bothered to go back and change it! :rotfl:

All is well with me apart from a lottery win! How's you? x

    Morning diary!

Hope everyone is well. Feeling very positive about things at the moment, not sure what has changed but perhaps it's just the simple fact that I am taking stock and slowly getting myself more organised?!

I now have a separate account opened for my monthly spends. Just waiting for the card and pin to come through. Hopefully it'll all arrive in time for pay day on 15th and then I can really embark on some sensible budgeting and spending from there on.

The plan is to work out a budget (realistic) and transfer it to this account which will be my spending money for the month - to cover food, petrol and socialising. That way I shouldn't touch my normal current account and i'm hoping that this in turn will leave a nice credit in my current account as won't be using it at all and also i'm thinking that having a separate account with spending money in will actually make me budget more and spend less as i'll be able to see the remaining balance going down - anything left over in my spends acc each month I will throw at my Lloyds TSB CC as this is the only one charging interest.

Finally feel as though i'm making positive steps, they have to be small or i'll never stick to them so for July to Aug pay i'm hoping to see a difference not only in managing my money but also how I spend it. We shall see!

On a brighter note i'm off to try on my wedding dress and pay the deposit this weekend. SO excited! My lovely dad is paying for my dress so monies have already been transferred to my acc to pay the deposit. I'm taking two of our bridesmaids to see it as when deciding it was just Mum and I. :D

Right best get on with some work.

Have a good day all xx

oooh wedding dress, how exciting :) I absolutely loved shopping for my dress :D

new budget sounds like a good plan, if you know you have a set amount of spends then you can plan around them. We transfer all our "excess" money to the debts after payday, and have a set amount of personal spends money each per month. seems to be working out ok so far

It is exciting! I can't wait to try it on again :)

That's what i'm hoping for, a new way of separating the cash so that I don't keep switching away on my card and ending up wasting money. Fingers crossed it works. Have already told OH i'm having a frugal (more so than normal) rest of the year until wedding! Hopefully will boost the wedding savings and overpayments on my debt. x

Ha ha, I was starting to think, how brilliant would that be, 1p per day, and by the end of the year having £365!! Wishful thinking and poor maths on my part there I think!!

I'm okay choc-addict, just on a low after coming back from seeing all the family, but will be back up again in a week or two so its not too bad. I'll be starting to give my poor OH a complex in my sad mood!!

Oooh I can't wait to start trying on wedding dresses! We're not getting married until 2013 but I think I'm going to start trying on soon to get some ideas to go on. Will be trying to source my dress cheaper than in the shops as a little challenge to myself so need to get some ideas of what I want soon.

Are you over on the weddings board too? I can't resist a sneaky read over there too! x

    Hey you,

Must be hard leaving your family, hope the feelings pass soon for you. You'll be surprised how quickly the time will pass by. We were engaged just before xmas and thought we had loads of time and now it's just over 9 months away!!!

It is lovely trying on dresses, I got myself completely confused but can safely say that I am happy now :)

I do pop on the wedding board - there are thread there for diff things, maybe even a 2013 bride thread perhaps?

    xx

    Morning diary!

    Hope everyone is well.

Had a busy but fun weekend. Friday a girls night out, food and drinks. Saturday I went back to try on my wedding dress with a couple of my bridesmaids and paid the deposit, OH managed to sort out the band too so that's a couple more bits of the tick list!. Sunday OH and I went down to Swanage and camped overnight, did some climbing and then Monday afternoon found a lovely little beach to chill out on. All in all a very lovely weekend :D

Back to work yesterday and in the office in London...not so great as a 5am rise and a £50 odd train ticket too...grrr  Never mind has to be done I guess.

I have started saving my odd 50p and 20p pieces. OH and I have a general change pot which we both add to and this will be towards our honeymoon spends so I will always put money in this but on every other occassion when I empty my purse I will put what 50p and 20p pieces I have to a separate tin which I will use once reached amount to bag up, towards overpaying a debt. Prob lloyds tsb cc. Small things but hopefully they'll help in clearing it sooner and it's a nifty way to saving a few pennies without really thinking about it.

Still waiting for pin number for my new account which will be my monthly spending acc. I really hope that this will help me think more about what I am spending and also control it better.

On another positive, I am working a little overtime this evening and possibly this weekend. All helps and will come along in Aug pay packet which means I can put half towards wedding and half to overpay a debt :T

Anyway enough yapping from me. Have a good day all.

    Choc x
