    Blood Brothers
    The Woman in Black

Wondered if anyone has been to any of these, and if they are good, or whether i should hold out for other shows.

Blood brothers is excellent. Seen twice. Teen DDs want to see again too.
Makes you laugh and cry - a good night out!
Woman in Black v expensive for 3 [I think] actors and a bleak stage. Not that creepy; more anticipation than actual scare.

Hi...I have tried several times to make a purchase using the code they e-mailed me.....tried through TCB and without doing that too....where is the promotional code box tho plz?? I have gone right up to the bit where I need to put in card details without finding it so far..... any help will be much appreciated thanks.:D

If you don't know how to clear cookies - I don't - then open in a different browser. I was in Opera from TCB. Had to open IE and type in the red letter address to see the promo box appear.

I'd second blood brothers - appeals to both male and females.
I've heard good things about Woman in Black too if you like a scare, but not actually seen it.
None of the others have been raved about among my colleagues who seem to be quite a cultured bunch!

If anyone has a spare code that they do not intend on using - I would really appreciate it!
I have just bought a £20 experience voucher using the code so that it only cost me £5 - and I will be using it as a raffle prize for a quiz night that I am running in a few months time to raise money for the charity MIND. :)
It means I could get another great prize, without it costing me too much ;)
    Hi Crazyangel

Please PM me and I will send you the code I have been emailed .I won't get to use it ,( only wanted to have the doughnuts for my kids, better luck next time) LOL

I dont mind what i see, just glad to have an evening with my fiance, as we havent been out together in about 2 years! But would like anyones recomendation of the shows.

I've seen a couple of those shows.

Blood Brothers I've seen 2 or 3 times and would definitely see again, given the chance. As someone else said, it's touching and might make you shed a tear but also has some very funny bits, so not all serious. It's a musical but my OH didn't mind the singing too much, which is saying something as he's complained about other shows having too much OTT singing which he finds annoying! It's not a flashy or spectacular show, visually, - ie quite a simple set without many special effects etc - but the story and performances kept us all thoroughly entertained. I've also seen it with male and female family members of various ages and everyone absolutely loved it. I'd say Blood Brothers is quite a safe bet for most tastes.

My friend took me to see The Woman In Black. She'd raved about it for years so I was expecting it to be really good but have to say I was really disappointed. Mind you, it didn't help that it was a matinee full of teenage school kids messing around, so the atmosphere was ruined with all the distractions and the tension didn't build at all!!! If you usually prefer musicals to plays, then I wouldn't bother with this. I generally quite like plays but I probably won't see this again as there are so many other shows I'd rather see instead. Of the 2 shows, I'd say this is definitely more of an acquired taste but if you like simple old fashioned ghost stories you may love it. And if you're going in the evening you'll hopefully avoid the bored school kids which will make a huge difference to your enjoyment of it!
  • Re the Totally theatre deal - I ordered mine on 31/01 and still have not heard anything... do they send you an e-mail or the 'pack' in the post?

Its been 10 days now since ordered and have not received ANYTHING apart from sending myself a ''temporary voucher'' which does not do anything! :(
  • thanks, this is brilliant
  • Thanks, got my voucher. Just need to work out what to spend it on now!
