Hometrack: Supply falling off a cliff....

Indeed, it appears that supply is definately reducing, while the number of new buyers registering is lowering, the actual demand is still increasing:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

Supply falling off a cliff, demand falling off a bigger cliff.0

Supply dropped 5.4%.
Demand dropped 9.5%
Supply outweighs demand this month.
Prices dropped too.
Noticed your down to quoting one single sentence now
The 5.4% is a drop of 5.4% on total properties listed but the 9.5% figure is a drop on the number of new buyers. So it doesn’t mean that supply outstrips demand this month. But I agree it’s pretty meaningless anyway.0 -
5.4% of what and 9.5% of what?
Release the ever optimists will ask this question and try to make it look as if supply has dropped more than demand.
However, no one can actually give you the numbers from these figures.
Neither would the actual figures have been asked for if demand dropped 5% and supply dropped 9%.0 -

True but the figures are meaningless without the actual figures, after all some of the properties not for sale must have been sold therefore it follows that some of the previous buyers are no longer looking. We are not comparing like for like you really need to know total number of buyers compared to total number of sellers.0 -
My parents, and a few of their friends on the market have removed from market to relaunch in spring. They see it as better than sitting on the market ATM.0
