Bike saddle advice!
I've just dusted my old bike off & have been using when I'm around town to save a bit of money .
Unfortunately after a short while the saddle is really uncomfortable.:(
Anyone bought a new saddle or come up with an idea to stop this?
All advice gratefully received!!

You probably just need to get used to sitting on a bike saddle.0

Sometimes it can take a few excursions to get used to it. I was ill for a while and when I first got back on my bike I was unsure about the saddle I'd previously found very comfortable.
How much will you use the bike?
You can get women's saddles, even then they can be a personal thing. My girlfriend has a Selle Italia and previously a Specialised women's saddle.
If you're doing short trips and don't want too spend much you could try a padded saddle cover. This probably wouldn't be the answer if you're doing longer rides.0 -
Get a more suitable saddle..... I assume your female "Soxmum", £15 will get you a good ladies saddle.
Take a look here there are a few under £20 there. You could also try ebay.
Online is a better place to buy though, you'll pay double the price in the highstreet shops like Halfrauds.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Doubt it's worth buying another one. As mentioned above it will take a few rides to get used to any seat, so even a new one would be sore to start with.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. it's all about getting the bike set to the right height for you, when you're pedalling all your weight shouldn't be in the saddle.
I get sore after my first bike ride of the year, ( fairweather cycling only for me) and it does hurt for a day or two, it's the muscles I think, not getting used unless cycling.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
