I'm also looking to buy the Sony KDL40W2000 but don't have a John Lewis very near me.
Went into the Sony shop in Swindon and took a print out of the £1749 with 5 yr guarantee offer from Paul Taylor GPA in Peterborough (thanks to poster for this).
They immediately suggested this TV would probably be a grey import and not specifically for the UK market! Wouldn't budge on their £1999 price + 3 yr guarantee. I'll have to phone Paul Taylor GPA shop and ask them I guess, then try JLewis Peterborough and drive from Swindon to Peterborough to get a good price!.... unless you know different?0 -
Back in November I bought a Sony Bravia TV (John Lewis) and later a Sky HD box/subscription (Comet). I then found out that Sony were giving £100 cashback if the TV & subscription were taken at the same time, same shop before Dec 24th 2006. On ringing the Sony helpline explaining I had bought them at different shops I was told that I could still claim the cashback. Sent off my receipt and yesterday received my cheque. Didn't post this on MSE earlier as wasn't sure that they would honor the offer. According to leaflet all applications need to be received before Feb 28th 2007 so anyone who bought the same package last year should be able to claim their £100. Appliaction forms/terms & conditions can be downloaded from
