My sentiments exactly.
The penne (Sainsburys) got thrown out for the chickens, as even the dogs didn't like it.0 -
I wouldn't dream of buying anything other than the cheapest pasta. I can't see what difference it makes if your going to cover it in sauce anyway.
Someone said about spagetti sticking together, I assumed it just did that anyway, so I just jab a fork into the pan and break it up. I'm sure these a technical term for that0 -
Well I buy the value lasagne sheets, but I don't buy value pasta twists as the packet is awkward to store. And they rarely do wholemeal which is what I have now.0

We always buy wholemeal pasta from lidl , its better than the value white stuff for sure0

I can vouch that even the mid to top range wholemeal keeps well.
The lads loathe it. I serve it up in extremis, and they've got very good at getting the sauce off & leaving an unlovely heap of brown adhering to the plate.
Whoever said boys eat Anything didn't try them on wholemeal pasta. Or maybe I'm doing something badly wrong.:wall:0 -
i always buy cheap pasta/spaghetti. when you add some cheese, sauce, meat etc. then my family can hardly tell the difference!0

the texture and taste is vastly different between value and proper italian brands - I'm stocking up on garofalo whilst its on offer in waitrose - still twice as much as ordinary pasta but worth it in my bookPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

From tomorrow, Tesco have 3 x 1 kg packs of their own brand Fusilli for £1.80. This only works out a bit dearer than buying value pasta.
