As mountainofdebt says, angrydoc is a good starting point. I have seen him help numerous people with medical entry issues in the past. If you don't want to post on the open forum, maybe pm him.0

would also suggest pm-ing.
Being a site where past, present and future serving members of the Navy can post, anyone who has a query such as yours OP can often get - how can I put it nicely - a less than sympathetic response.....not from angrydoc / ninja though - they are more diplomatic in their response.2014 Target;

Not really any of your business is it future?
OP, good luck, I do have to echo the fact that soldier recruiting is at an all time high and any excuse the army have to reject people is being used. I have heard tales of people appealing this sort of thing before but don't have any specific info for you.0 -

Whats that got to do with anything?What is pi? Where did it come from?0 -
I would appeal, but the army can not and will not have someone in the army who can not or is perceived to be not all there in the mind or body.
Its silly really as someone who has had problems may make the best recruit but put them in the field were anything goes with very very high levels of stress and that could be endangering both your relatives life but also his or her colleagues/mates.
Is that fair?The harder one works the luckier one gets!0 -

My daughter has just been told that she is not eligible for military service due to her medical history, she had taken 2 overdoses a couple of years ago and they have said she can appeal can anyone give me any advice of what she can do as this is something she has been working really hard at over the past 6 months to get her fitness levels up and is now on top form, she is devestated about this is there anything we can do
Sorry its not money saving just really need some good advice please
Many Thanks
My advice would be to take up a role in civvy street.Look what Post Traumatic sd has done to people with no history.If your daughter is unstable how safe is she with a gun?She would be like a porcupine in a condom factory!0 -
With mental health issues like that, it's very unlikely that the forces will accept her. She is simply a risk to herself and those around her. It's unfortunate, but they do have a point."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0

Army training is very intense and stressful, in my unit we had a few recruits who tried to top themselves and they were 100% healthy before enlisting. They drop like flies in the first few weeks of training. Your daughter has no chance of getting in with her medical history.0
