Sorry if this has been posted on numerous occasions, but how does everyone organise their diaries/appointments/lists etc?
I've tried a binder, not for me as too big to carry around.
I've tried a book with tabs, but that didn't work.
I've seen some family diaries which look good, but they seem a little pricey and they start sept (I was going to request one for christmas!).
Any suggestions most welcome - there are only 3 of us but I find I have a book for meal ideas, planning, christmas and a diary and that system isn't working either!
    Thanks

Single person household here - and I will be looking out for next years Household Diary in a few weeks time. (I checked yesterday - but its only the academic year ones that are out yet - and I use ones that cover the full year - ie not September to September).

I use an A4 day a page Diary for household purposes - and put anything to do with the running of the house/finances in it.

In a several person household - then it would be useful to have one of them to write household stuff AND engagements that affected others in the household into it. Easier than lots of bits of paper and notes everywhere and person X could easily check if person Y has fixed up something already for a day before making any further arrangements for themselves.

    ***************

On top of that - I have my little carry-around diary for social engagements/appointments.

A good old fashioned Filofax is great for this sort of thing, and easily customised.

  • Like LumpyMoo, I also have an Organised Mum life book. It is fantastic! It is on the pricey side (I think it was about £14) but it has sections for budgets, Christmas, general notes and meal plans. It does start in August but runs until the end of Dec 2012 so if you got one in Dec you would still get a good year out of it.

We have an M&S family calendar in the kitchen. I like the big M&S ones as they don't say mum, dad etc. It just has four unheaded columns so lots of room to write in.
We all put appointments, birthdays etc on there & then I add them all to the calendar on my phone which bleeps to remind me who is where & when. That way I never double book myself when I should be giving son a lift or something.
    It works well for us:)

organised mum are fab diarys. i used to buy them yearly but last couple of yrs i've been giving diarys as pressies so not bought one.

i am considering buying another now were a family of 6 so i can be better organised. but i've found as long as i use my normal diary daily, that combined with my iphone i am more organised so maybe i don't need to buy an organised mum one. But they are fab. i love with little stickers, lol.

I've got a pretend A5 filofax that I use in the house but I still found my handbag was cluttered with a diary, notebook & cashbook so I decided to treat myself to this:

I love how you can customise a filofax to suit your own circumstances and you don't have to replace the whole thing every year like a diary, you just need the pages you use.

    Thank you!
I think maybe I'll invest in an organised mum one.
