Sainsburys PS2 BOGOF - loophole? [CLOSED]

Haven't had Shrek 2 or Man Utd football... sent me an email about cancelling after so many days but are trying to get stock in or something - yeh right !!I'm still waiting and not very happy!

Heres a topic that hasn't been active for a while..........

Well on the 4th of April I received an email offering me the Platinum shrek2 as the other was out of stock and couldn't be sorced anymore and I decided not to take them up on their offer....

Today a jiffy bag pops through the letterbox with...................Shrek2 PS2 game in it .........Or so I thought.Shouts the youngest down and gave him his "LONG" awaited game in a nice shinny new PS2 box.Within 1 minute he stomps downstairs and passes the box back to me asking me if I was having a laugh.....I looked inside and there was a Xbox Shrek2 disk and Xbox instruction manual......
My main worry with this is not just that he hasn't got an Xbox but will they believe me.......???

P.S. I did find it quite amusing as my son thought I had done it for a joke and kept asking for the proper disk..........

They sent me an email saying that I could have Shrek 2 platinum version for 9.99 if they couldn't get hold of the other one..... so have to say ok i guess otherwise will have a very disgruntled step daughter on my hands....
how much does the platinum version sell for anyway ??

I got the Shrek 2 Platinum offer too. Still haven't heard about Harry Potter, which I ordered at the same time.

They didn't tell me how much they'd charge me for the Shrek 2, so I didn't reply - don't want to be charged £20 for that one if HP's not coming free :rolleyes:

Had a look on www.find-games.co.uk for Shrek 2 Platinum, according to that the cheapest is £16.99 at MVC.

Unfortunately due to the unprecedented demand for the this title, we are unable to fulfil your order as the manufacturers have now deleted the line from general sale and despite our best efforts we have been unable to source further stock.

An alternative version of the Shrek 2 PS2 game is available however, Shrek 2 Platinum PS2, which we would be willing, in this instance, to substitute for the original game. From information available through our Games department, we understand the mechanics of the game remain the same, however following a re-launch it has been re-packaged and branded as the Platinum version.

Don't understand why you have been offered it for £9.99 unless they are taking into account which other game was had first.I had the sega superstars with eyetoy for 1p.Also this one would have been the right version not the platinum if the insides were correct-not the platinum box........

Anyway I'll see whats going to happen today about returning it or might even put it onto eBay and that will confuse people.......:doh:
