So Honda went wrong when they got mixed up with Rover.
Toyota went wrong when they got mixed up with Renault?
It's a shame you're not in charge, if they can't see the pattern you clearly can. Have you written to Nissen and Mazda yet with a warning? Oh, hang on.......

Toyota never got mixed up with Renault, that was Nissan surely?0 -
At least Rover could get the brakes to work, the throttle not to stick and keep the fuel where it was meant to be.

missus went to work yesterday and locked car as norm via the key fob , after doing her 12hr shift she couldnt get the car to open using the key fob so had to use the key itself, once in it just wouldnt start.
so this morning took other spare set of keys with her to try that fob but still no opening or starting .
any ideas???
Could possibly be a flat car battery if you haven't checked that yet?0 -
As above, it might sound obvious but see if the lights, radio etc. are working - could be as simple as a flat battery.
www.remotekey.co.uk are very handy - sorted out my wife's car a few years ago. On the 25 the alarm ECU is up behind the dashboard - easy to unplug and remove once you know where it is. You can send it off to Remotekey and they'll fix it, re-code your plips and/or refurbish/replace as necessary, and send it all back to you Special Delivery the next day. I think it cost me about £90 for one new fob, one refurbished fob and coding to the ECU. The car's off the road for a few days but at least you know it'll work when you get it back.
Remote key can also supply the EKA (Emergency Key Access) code which should get you going in the meantime (this disables the immobiliser until the fob is used again).
Ignore the anti-Rover trolls, they're pretty boring.
If you haven't been already, get over to forums.mg-rover.org where there's loads and loads of advice for any problem you're likely to come up against.0 -
