Yes, all those countries reducing their debt, like Ireland & Greece.

The strong countries, like Germany, didn't have to drastically cut spending because their deficit wasn't huge in the first place.

Wow you make it sound like the UK credit rating was CCC.

This may be a rather dodgy point, but why should a British worker believe they are entitled to a higher standard of living than the equivalent Polish or Eastern European?

Interesting philosophical question, similar to why should someone join up and fight to defend a country that doesn't look after their interests.

I remember when Ford closed Fiesta production in Dagenham speaking to one of the Managers there. Ford Dagenham was more efficient and cost effective than the German plant it was up against. The costs of redundancy and dismissal tipped the balance.

That seems to rhyme with what I wrote in my earlier post.
More jobs were lost by not fighting, it is fairly obvious that business will take the line of least resistance i.e a choice
between jobs going in France or UK - well you know the answer. The opposite is of course relevant, new jobs are
likely to be created in the UK as opposed to France but more likely still trumped by Poland.

anyone that changes their vote from Tory to Labour because of the cuts is a complete moron, this is exactly what they pledged to do during the election, and its what the country voted for.

I agree with the first bit but I didn't realise the Tories had achieved an overall majority, you can't include the LibDem votes because they just told lies.

The Tories have a bigger % of the vote than Tony Blair did in his third term. We have Labours manipulation of constituencies to thank for that.

  • He's so see through it's stupid. If anyone is going to tarnish labours own recovery, it's him and his wife.

Yvette Cooper? They'd be better off with Tommy Cooper.

And now, as AV looms ( is it really?) , many Conservative MPS will lsoe thier seats, so they are all getting shunted off to the house of lords, the irony of it all, its more democratic to have less mps on the payroll ( apparently) and shunt them in to the lords where they canot be removed by democracy

They must think we are stupid.

    Yes, yes they do.
