My 5yr old came home tonight complaining of her lady parts, i had a look and she had several blisters and was loosing discharge (sorry not nice i know)
I phoned the doctors to get her checked, the receptionist got a doctor to call me back who asked a few questions then said she could see her at 6pm tonight but was backloged, i said she is not in any pain so took an appointment for the morning.
When i got off the phone i noticed that there were four or five red spots (different to other ones) appearing on her body, so went down to the doctors just to be safe.
I felt a bit silly sitting waiting as i could see more spots appearing on her and told myself its chicken pox.
Went into see the doctor who said that they look like pox but can not be certian until she has all 3 types of spots flat ones, raised ones and blistered ones, i got her to check downstairs too and she said it looks very sore.
Now last tuesday i took both my little ones to the doctors as both of there glands when they opened there mouths came up and around there tonsils and she had been complaining of head ache, kneck ache and had a temp, docs said they were fine, i got her to check again tonight as she now has white spots on her glands, docs again said fine.
I will be keeping her off school but am not too sure how long for as some say one week, some say two weeks and others say until the spots have scabed over.
Sorry for the long winded post but wanted to get it all in.

My DD had chicken pox a couple of months ago and the nursery said she had to stay off until the spots burst and stopped weeping. Once they start it doesn't take long for them to start healing.
Oh and a helpful tip Piriton anti histamine liquid is excellent for chicken pox, much better than calamine lotion;)"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -

Thank you
The doctor did say to get some piriton as it will help her sleep if she gets itchy.
Just read on another forum about bicarb bath too or savlon bath.
She is not complaining or itching yet but i am sure with the ladyhood problem she will get very sore so want to do as much as i can to help her.
Many thanks for your advice :0)0 -
I tried DD with a bicarb bath first and it did soothe it but nothing worked liked the Piriton it didn't make her sleepy just stopped the itch. Hope she feels better soon"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0

She's contagious for the first five days or until all the spots have scabbed, whichever is the sooner. Piriton, lavender and calamine will become your friendsThey call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0

Baby wipes for downstairs, I'd put them in the fridge so they're nice and cool and don't hurt her like loo roll would.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Sudocrem will take the burn out of the spots on her twinkle. As others have said, keep up with the Piriton. My daughter doesn't have a single scar from chicken pox. I gave her the Piriton right through until the spots scabbed over and were no longer itchy.0

things 2 and 3 and HIM has just recovered from chicken pox and i was told a week by the school too
another advocate for priton works bloody wonderful, as calamine makes them itch even more as it driesIf we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

From experience - Piriton, tea tree in bath/shampoo, bicarbonate of soda in bath, and aloe vera gel all over - not calamine as it dries out.The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0

I used calamine in aqueous cream on my lot. The calamine soothes but the aqueous cream stops the skin from drying out. You can buy it in the chemist and it's not very expensive.
I second the Piriton syrup too. My youngest two were sleepy with it, but it made my eldest hyper and he was bouncing around all over the place!
Hope she feels better soon. Here I go again on my own....0
