We're 8th September 2012! SO cannot wait! So far venue, humanist, band and photographer booked. At the moment just looking at bits and bobs of stationary etc. just trying to buy when see something for right price. Got our guest book from ebay for £10 and our cake toppers were so cheap too! At the moment trying to find a large vintage photoframe (like A2/A1 size) to do a table plan. Just got a picture in my head what I want!
: ) I LOVE wedding planning!

Congratulations joanneinwonderland!! :j You've been added to our exclusive list
We're having a Humanist ceremony as well, although we haven't found a celebrant yet - the one we were thinking of (H2B's mum knows him) has been struck off for apparently not taking his own weddings vows seriously enough... So the search begins again!
You're much more organised than I am! All we've done so far is book the venue. We've been gathering ideas and contacts though, so watch this space...

ok seeing as ive subscribed to this thread and hopefully get to know you all as we are doing all our planning Ill let you know my thoughts so far:
Venue: Chester Zoo
Colour scheme: Deep purple, burnt orange and a hint of green (looks alot nicer than it sounds LOL)
Theme: Giraffes and Elephants
number of bridesmaids: 2
Photographer: 'working on it!'
Favours: jumbo animal biscuitsLOL
Cake: something multi-tiered! Im a cake maker so cost and design isnt really an option
Food: afternoon tea, then a BBQ afterwards
Entertainment: safari around zoo, disco, facepainting, maybe a photobooth and hopefully pinatas LOL
Table decor: N/A as we arent having a sit down meal (but if i was it was goldfish in bowls LOL)
Budget so far approx £9000 (eeek!)
aiming for a super fun, informal wedding!
Love to hear your ideas!

Sounds fab! :T There is another b2b on MSE who's getting married at Chester Zoo - October this year I think. I'm sure she'll let us know how it went!
OK, my turn
Venue: The Mansion House, Bristol - Humanist ceremony.
Evening venue TBC, hopefully a community hall nearby.
Colour scheme: Vibrant purple, tangerine orange and turquoise (so I know where you're coming from nuttymummy!) Haven't decided which will be the more dominant of orange and turquoise yet, but purple is the main one.
Theme: Vaguely vintage-y! And with lots of plants and natural things. And epic amounts of DIYing.
Bridesmaids: 1 MoH.
Favours: chocolate, packet of wildflower seeds maybe...
Cake: Multi-tiered, simple and fairly traditional - the venue has a cake stand which is very ornate and old-fashioned looking, so a modern or unusual cake would not go well. I, my mum and possibly MIL2B will be making it with each tier a different flavour. Will probably act as dessert for MSE purposes!
Table decs: Thinking of plants in pots, candles, bud vases....
Food: traditional sit-down meal, as late as we can get it so we don't have to feed people too much in the evening!
Budget: £8000, before Honeymoon. It does not go far...Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

lol i know what u mean about budget....our budget is just for the wedding day, we arent having a stag/hen party and probably wont have a honeymoon due to our 2 kids and lack of money LOL
i would have never of thought of turquoise!. the orange is the more dominant over green in mine :0)
im trying to do lost of DIY too, like the invites, cake, cupcakes as part of dessert, photobooth hopefully and having a filmer friend do a video.
by vintagey i always get the idea of multipatterned bunting which looks so awesome!
LOL i would have liked a sit down meal too but we went for the cheaper option of afternoon tea:dance:

My first colour scheme idea was just purple and tangerine, but I thought that perhaps H2B would like some input too so asked him and he said that he likes turquoise. The three colours look amazing together but we do have to make sure that they are not in equal proportions or it would be a bit too much!
I would love to have bunting! We might ask the venue to let us put some up in the garden, but haven't got that far yet. I really like vintage style clothing so my dress is quite 1930s in style. H2B is thinking of wearing a top hat, so it's kind of gone from there! I will try to think of vintage-y style table decorations as well, but that's not high on my list of priorities as yet.Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

Firstly, hello... and congratulations to you all!
Hope the planning is going well.
Id like to join if possible? We have a date in mind for September 2012, but havent booked anything as yet. Weve been umming and aaahing about every aspect of the wedding since September 2009, which is when we got engaged.
My OH wants to get married before September 2012, but we are paying for the wedding ourselves, I know our parents want to contribute, which is lovely, but I didnt want to rely on them, so are trying to be realistic on the date so saving can be done!
I think it would be lovley to get married in September, as this is the month we got engaged, Septemeber 22nd 2009 in Turkey (wish it would be as warm here as it was there!) and the 22nd Sept falls on a Sat in 2012, which would be just perfect
We've decided (at last!) on a small ceremony, as my OH suffers from panick attacks, and is panicking already about standing up in front of everyone and we havent booked it yet! We both want to get married in a church, but I dont think id mind getting married elsewhere if the venue was right. OH is adamant on a church though.....
We'd like the reception quite informal, (no speeches, as again, OH would be a nightmare to live with if he thought he'd have to stand in front of everyone and doa speech!) with all of our family and friends, and like the idea of a vintagey/1950's style venue but not sure on that as yet. We are also looking into hiring a marquee, but on our budget - appears it would swallow most of it!
The idea of actually eloping somewhere has been discussed also! hahaha:rotfl:and also sounds good to me!
So, as you can see, nothing booked, nothing decided 100%, but looking at 22nd September, if its possible to join? Id love to keep an eye on the thread and see what you are all doing. Sorry about the length of the post - didnt realise, just started to ramble!
