Barclaycard...£80 free petrol bonus?

  • Sorry to move away from the 'free element' but what are the discounts listed like?

As somebody calculated, you'd be getting £80 petrol for £76.89 (assuming you pay off you card in full each month). So if the discounts are half decent and likely to be used, this surely adds more value to the scheme?
The above facts belong to everybody; the opinions belong to me; the distinction is yours to draw...

    Just to update...

I got a £20 cheque in the post this morning from these guys!!!

In the same post I got another offer to try this scheme - only they have now reduced the reward to £20 petrol rebate in total (£5 x 4)!!
  • Has anyone got any updates on this please? I still have my original invite, not sure if it's still valid but can't see an expiry date on it at all. Just wondering what sort of discounts are available.

Thanks if you can help
  • Mine was only for £20, but thinking of going for it - would have been nice to have got the £80 one :)

    Hi,

    Better late than never :)

I used to work for the company that provides this scheme - the petrol vouchers are your s to keep and use beyond the 30 day trial, even if you do cancel. They can be redeemed by post, and you won't be charged if you have cancelled.

The discounts we do offer are: 25% off dining at any of our partner restaurants (a few thousand nationwide) for up to four people on food and drinks, 10% off tickets through ticketmaster and 'freetime' which is discount vouchers (2 for 1's, that sort of thing).

If you do cancel (and I shouldn't really mention this) and want to avoid a hard sell, the easiest thing to do is say you're emigrating to (give a country name), and they'll cancel it down without spending 5 minutes convincing you of the offers. :)

    Craig.

I 2 got this offer. Can NOT find any smallprint catch- clearly states the vouchers r redeemable even if membership cancelled. I will go 4 this 1-my blood pressure is the only casualty if they make paying me difficult. They want to flog my details around the world tho.,-dont like that much.

Do you have to use your Barclaycard to buy the petrol to claim the vouchers? I'm using it as a balance transfer account only at the moment. If the answer's no, I might well sign up as well. Huw

NOONE is going to give you £80 of petrol vouchers without a catch. Be wary!

I'm in the same position. My husband has cleared his account so we've send his application form off. Then I got one too but I wasn't sure - like you - if you have to use your Barclaycard to buy the petrol, which would ruin my balance transfer scenario. It does all sound too good to be true, but Craig makes it sound as though it's possible for us to end up with £160 of free petrol.
